Join us for a bike maintenance workshop for Teens and Adults. Areyou curious about bicycle mechanics? Would you like to maintain your bike better, do repairs yourself, or get your bike ready for spring? Would you like to be better prepared to fix break downs when you are out on the road? Bring your bike and tool kit, if you have one. A parent or guardian must accompany students 13-16years. Please make a donation by cash or check if you are able to the Bicycle Coalition of Maine at the beginning of class cash or check or via their website www.bikemaine.org/donate. Rain date will be Thursday, May 16. When registering please mark this date on your calendar just in case it rains on May 8. Limit 18 students.

Unleash your creativity in our Fabric Foiling Class! Begin by foiling a chic design onto a provided cloth bag, then elevate your style by adding foil accents to the ends of a cashmere scarf. Early sign-ups will have a choice of color preference. The instructor is willing to accommodate students who wish to foil personal belongings, like jeans or the collar of a blazer. Register by Wednesday, April 24! There will be a $25 materials fee (cash or check only) due to the instructor at the start of the class. Limit 25 students.

Do some shopping for Mother's Day (May 12, 2024) or pamper YOURSELF with this stunningly beautiful jewelry. We will make a copper wire-wrapped Tree of Life Pendant with matching earrings. Stones and wire will be provided. There will be a $25 materials fee (cash or check only) due to the instructor at the start of class. Once the class enrolls the minimum number of students to run, students will be emailed a Supply List of tools to purchase before the start of class. You can see examples off the jewelry to be created and the tools to be purchased on our website at midmaine.maineadulted.org. Limit 10 students.

Pickleball for Beginners - MS

Have you tried Pickle Ball yet? It is fun, social, and an exercise sport that you can do for a lifetime. You will learn the forehand, back-hand, serve, volley, and overhead strokes in a fun and supportive environment. It’s fun for friends to join together, or join and make new friends! Bring a pickleball paddle if you have one. There will be a few to borrow during class time. Please wear proper footwear-- the instructor recommends court or tennis shoes and preferably pickleball shoes. There will be no class if it is raining or the court is wet. Rain makeup classes will be held the following Sunday 2:30PM - 4:00PM. There will be no class on Monday, May 27, but wewill hold class on Wednesday, May 29, as a make-up. Invite a friend to join you! Limit 8 students.

This class is for 3.0 to 3.5 Pickleball players who wish to become a smarter, more skillful doubles player and for those gearing up for tournament play. Please wear appropriate footwear -- the instructor recommends court or tennis shoes and preferably pickleball shoes. There will be no class if it is raining or if the court is wet. Rain makeup classes will be held the following Sunday 2:30 PM - 4:00PM. There will be no class on Monday, May 27, but we will hold class on Wednesday, May 29, as a make-up. In this fun interactive class, Candace Sanborn, of Radiant Image, will teach you about warmer and cooler tones to determine what types of colors look best on you. You will also receive recommendations for eye shadows, blush, and lipsticks for your complexion, so you can put the two together to create a more vibrant you! Limit 15 students!

Birding with Ian Lynch: Spring Migrants

Spring days bring wonderful surprises for bird watchers. Nearly every day, new birds arrive, often species that weren't here the day before. Some of the birds are showing to breed in central Maine, but many are only stopping off on their way north. The numbers and the brevity of their visits can make identifying spring migrant birds feel overwhelming. This beginner class will concentrate on identifying the most common migrants by sight and by sound. In addition to suggestions for places to look for migrants, there will be an option for an outing together. Limit 20 students.

Alumni Harvest for Worm Composting Beginners Class

This class is for people who have attended the Worm Composting for Beginners class already. Jock will inspect your worm bins, demonstrate and assist with harvesting, and answer any questions. Additionally, Jock will bring harvest kits for alumni to use harvesting their own worm bins. Limit 10 students.
