HiSET 101 D: In Person (formerly GED)

Get started in the HiSET® Program by attending our orientation for new students. Orientation will provide an overview of the HiSET® process and guide participants through intake, assessment, and pre-testing. Workshops on college and career planning, financial literacy, and technology skills (all essential skills for success at college and in the workplace) will be provided.
Attendance at orientation classes is mandatory.
At the end of orientation, students will be referred to final HiSET® testing or scheduled for additional academic help.

Financial Literacy
with Megan McOsker, RSU 24 Adult Education
Are you trying to save to buy something? Save for the future? Learn the basics of how money works, how to budget and save, and how interest effects your borrowing and saving.
Build math skills by learning and applying basic knowledge about financial concepts such as the ability to balance an account, manage a credit card, prepare a budget, take out a loan, and buy insurance.
We'll introduce you to practical planning tools that can help you manage your income and expenses. Guest speakers from local banks and financial organizations will share information about local resources to help with financial planning.
Upon completion of this course, students will earn one high school math credit.
Adult High School Diploma
with Academic Instructor, Lake Region & Fryeburg Area Adult Education
Take classes and earn credits towards completing your high school diploma. Subjects are assigned based on students needs.
- Individual and small group instruction, self-study, and computer- based learning options.

- Instruction is available in Fryeburg and Naples.

The Learning Center is open to all adults in need of academic instruction and guidance. Hours vary by day, and we will try to meet you on your schedule. Our staff provides individualized instruction in the areas of:
- High School Equivalency
- HiSET Prep
- Accuplacer Prep
- Math and ELA instruction to prepare you for college-level coursework
- General reading, writing, and math tutoring for anyone pursuing college or career education
- Workforce credential or certification tutoring and prep
- College and Career advising
All services through the Learning Center are FREE of charge. If you or anyone you know could use any of these services, please contact us.

Federal law provides access for free career training and support services for adults and youth to overcome barriers to employment. American Sign Language
with Erin Johnson, MSAD#44 Adult & Continuing Education
***NOTE; this course is beginning September 24th. The original start date of September 10th has changed.
Erin Johnson ~ Certified Life Coach, is a former teacher of Deaf students in Vermont and loves to share this beautiful language with others. Beginner to Intermediate signers are encouraged to take this ASL class.
We will go over some basics of the language and progress to short conversations and story telling using ASL.
