iPhone Basics
with NDEC Instructor, Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education
This course covers the basics of how to use Apple’s popular iPhone. This class starts with the basics of how to log on using multiple methods from passcode to touch id to face recognition technology. Apple’s iCloud service will be discussed, including how it will help secure your data and allow your data to be used across multiple Apple devices. The App Store will be covered to find additional applications that may meet your varied interest and needs.

The National Digital Equity Center has been, and will continue to be, a thought leader on digital equity and digital inclusion.The National Digital Equity Center provides Digital Literacy classes that provide opportunities for professional growth, personal enrichment, the development of computer skills, and preparation for professional careers in a supportive environment. Customized training and consulting solutions are offered to businesses and industries, as well as community residents. Online classes are held in a live interactive form using a videoconference platform; in-person classes are at community locations in collaboration with partner organizations. We provide all instruction in a small group interactive learning setting, whether it is online or in-person.
Introduction to Compassionate Communication

In today’s polarized world, effective and compassionate communication can bridge divides, build trust, and foster healthier relationships, both personally and professionally. This introductory class explores how to communicate with empathy and clarity while staying true to oneself. You will learn how to use mindful breathing techniques, active listening, and how to apply these skills in real-life scenarios. Communicate with the heart while maintaining credibility and strength.

This year we are excited to offer one of our HiSET 101 sessions online. Instruction will occur using tools like Zoom and Google Classroom.
Get started in the HiSET® Program by attending our orientation for new students. Orientation will provide an overview of the HiSET® process and guide participants through intake, assessment, and pre-testing. Workshops on college and career planning, financial literacy, and technology skills (all essential skills for success at college and in the workplace) will be provided.
Attendance at orientation classes is mandatory.
At the end of orientation, students will be referred to final HiSET® testing or scheduled for additional academic help.
Classes begin every 4 weeks --- call 474-7553 to schedule your orientation.

Two of the great benefits to your Google account are Google Drive and Google Docs. Google Drive is free cloud storage and Google Docs is Google's free alternative to MS Word. In this class you will learn how to store and manage your files online as well as use the Google Docs platform where you can create stunning documents.
