Are you interested in improving your English skills? Learning English can help you communicate with your child's school and increase your ability to read and speak English. This fun class will teach basic communication, life skills, and literacy. you will need access to email and a tablet or computer to study outside of class each week. New students may be placed into this class after an intake and assessment meeting: call 730-5040 for an appointment. Instructor Peter Hofmann is an advisor at USM and is currently working toward his PhD.

This course is ideal for students who have little-to-no English-speaking ability. The four essential skills of communication will be studied: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Students who test in the ESL Levels 2-3 (CASAS scores 200 and below). Rolling admission.

Note: The nature of this class requires a computer with good internet capability as well as Zoom app downloaded prior to first day of class. If a student misses 3 classes, student will be withdrawn. May re-enroll in the next session and when able to commit to schedule.
