RSU 13 Adult Education can help! Our college and career advisor can meet with you to complete career assessments, research options that fit your needs and make a plan to reach your goal. If you are considering college and training programs, our instructors can help you improve your English and Math scores on the tests needed to gain admission. We can help you apply for financial aid and scholarships, and assist you with the transition into your program.

Simple ELL Vocabulary Strategies
available
with Ed2Go Instructor, MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education

This course will introduce the challenges that English Language Learners (ELLs) encounter with unfamiliar vocabulary and will help you grasp the distinctions between tier 1, 2, and 3 vocabulary words. You will learn different vocabulary strategies, how to support your students at each vocabulary tier, and explore both implicit and explicit vocabulary teaching methods. The course comes with a downloadable PDF of the content, videos, quizzes, and a variety of vocabulary templates ready to be used in the classroom.

Citizenship Preparation
with Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult Education

For those seeking to achieve United States citizenship.
This 14-week in-person class will help you understand the naturalization process and prepare you for the interview and civics test.
Coursework includes in-class instruction, take-home study materials, and a compilation of online resources.
Students are expected to have regular class attendance and reliable transportation. Some basic English skills are required.

English for Multilingual Learners
with Old Orchard Beach/Saco Adult Education

Learn and practice English in one of our in-person or online classes, surrounded by a small group of peers also working to develop their English language skills.
Classes are available in multiple levels, depending on the current fluency and your needs. Additional learning materials for at-home study are available. Students are expected to have regular class attendance and reliable transportation.

Academic and Career Advising

Students receive individual support aligned with their goals. This may include career exploration, aptitude testing, job shadowing, soft skill building, connection to resources, and application support for training, college, jobs, and scholarships/financial aid.

Advanced English
with Noble Adult & Community Education

This course helps students develop advanced English literacy skills for home, work, school, and community. TOEFL skills will be included in this class. Instruction may be delivered in-person on campus or remotely through Google Meet. Students will also have the option to use EnGen for additional instruction and practice outside of class.
Daytime class: Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:45pm to 4:15pm
Evening class: Mondays 6pm to 7pm

Beginner English
with Noble Adult & Community Education

This course helps students develop foundational English literacy skills for home, work, school, and community. Instruction may be delivered in-person on campus or remotely through Google Meet. Students will also have the option to use EnGen for additional instruction and practice outside of class.
Daytime class: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 11:30am to 1pm
Evening class: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6pm to 7pm

Computers for ESOL
with Bill Keller, Windham/Raymond Adult Education

Becoming comfortable with technologyis necessary in our personal and professional lives. This class is for students with beginner-level understanding of computers and other tools of technology. The goal is for students to improve their computer literacy skills and become comfortable with technology. Call the ABE Coordinator to register for this and other ESOL classes. This class is offered virtually and in-person as needed. Students meet with the instructor for two one-hour sessions per week at various times.
