Computers for ESOL

Becoming comfortable with technology is necessary in our personal and professional lives. This class is for students with beginner-level understanding of computers and other tools of technology. The goal is for students to improve their computer literacy skills and become comfortable with technology. Call the ABE Coordinator to register for this and other ESOL classes. This class is offered virtually and in-person as needed. Students meet with the instructor for two one-hour sessions per week at various times.

Adult Basic Education (ABE)

Learn to read or improve reading, writing and math skills. Study for license, certification or citizenship exams; learn English as another language. Free.

English Language Learners (ELL) Day Level B

These classes provide a wide variety of educational options needed to learn English. Students can develop skills necessary to be able to train for new job skills, or transition to college-level courses. Our experienced instructors appreciate ethnic diversity, and cultivate multicultural exchanges in the classrooms. The tuition-free program invites students who may have never been to school, or who may have some high school level education or less.

NorthStar Digital Literacy ELL

Workforce Training ELL

English Language Learning for Beginners
with Elizabeth DiLalla, RSU #13 Adult and Community Education

English Beginner class designed for English Language Learners at the beginning level, with a focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and life skills. Students will have the opportunity to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in this class.

This class is designed for someone who is preparing for college, a professional career, or preparing to take the TOEFL exam. This class will focus on academic vocabulary, develop writing and communication skills, and improve study skills and test taking skills. This class will be in-person at McLain School in Rockland with Zoom options.
