Stone Bridges are old and beautiful and there's lots of them right here in Maine. In this class you will learn to paint a foggy stone bridge scene with layers of trees in the distance. No Prior experience is necessary; Shirley welcomes beginners with open arms. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or picking up a brush for the first time you’ll find this to be a fun and engaging class. Canvas and paints are supplied.

Attendees will learn the basic techniques for fly tying and progress to tying flies for catching freshwater fish in Maine's lakes and rivers. Vises, tools, hooks and all supplies needed to produce fishable flies will be provided by the instructor. Class size will be limited to 5-6 students to allow for individual assistance as required. Class will cover tools, hooks, fly size, fly type and construction techniques used to create flies. The student will learn to work with feathers, hair, tinsels, thread, wire, fur, beads and many other materials used in making flies. A materials fee of $25 must be paid to the instructor on the first night of class. *No Class: 2/18.

Using buttery-soft jumbo yarn, you will create a scrumptious blanket using a simple hand-weaving technique. Choose from an array of beautiful colors! Absolutely no knitting, crocheting, or weaving experience is necessary. A $55 materials fee is due to the instructor immediately following registration and is non-refundable after yarn orders are placed. Become certified in First Aid/CPR/AED – Adult and Child. All the equipment (manikins and AEDs), videos, Student Workbooks, and consumable supplies are provided. Included in the course are adult and child CPR with AED and first aid skills, where the students demonstrate the skills learned. Upon successful completion, an American Heart Association First/Aid CPR and AED Certification card will be sent to the student, valid for two (2) years. For those taking the course to meet U.S. Coast Guard requirements, a Certificate of Completion that indicates this course meets the requirements of 46 CFR 11.201 for Merchant Mariner Credential will also be issued.
