Join us for a class in Hatha Yoga led by certified instructor, Nancy Cotty from Peace Within Yoga. Yoga is a great way to relax and improve your health and well being. The focus will be on stretching and breathing while building our strength and finding peace. All levels are welcome. Drop-ins are welcome and new students can join anytime. Are you interested in taking a cruise but not sure where to start? We are excited to announce a new one-night class that will help with just that! Join Kelly Monroe, owner of In The Magic Travel with Kelly, where she will share her expertise on cruising. Learn about cruise lines, itineraries, departure ports, what to expect, how to proceed, and answers to your questions!

Our short vegetable growing season can be expanded with the use of certain materials/methods and species/variety selections. What are these materials, how do you use them? Where do you get them? Which techniques are right for me? What tips and tricks are there for maximum effect? How much does it cost and is it worth it? Come find answers to these questions and more!

In this hands-on course, you’ll learn essential wilderness survival skills, including: Building your own survival kit Fire starting techniques Shelter building Water sourcing and purification Identifying wild edibles Trapping for food Navigation and orientation Developing a survival mindset This class will take place in both a classroom and outdoor setting. Please dress in appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather. Children under 14 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Jim Paine, with 50 years of survival and bushcraft experience, is an expert in wild plants and wild edibles. He also participates in search and rescue in Greenville, Maine. This is his third program teaching wilderness survival.

We are so glad you asked! We want you to be prepared and informed about what to expect during your Orientation session.

During your Orientation Session you will:

• Meet with our student advisor
• Discuss what you would like to accomplish through Adult Education
• Fill out enrollment paperwork
• Sit for academic placement testing

What you should know before you arrive:

• We are located at 377 River Road, Mexico, ME 04257
• The Adult Education is the one that is facing the road
• You should ring the bell and wait for us to buzz you in. Once we do that, you can come right upstairs
• The Orientation process can take a few hours, so please plan accordingly

What you should bring to your Orientation Session:

• A CURRENT Maine Photo ID (Maine drivers license, Maine State ID card, Passport, Military ID, etc. - If you do not have any of those form of Photo ID, please let us know when you come and we can direct you as to the next steps.)

Narcan (also known as naloxone) is a safe and easy-to-use medication that reverses overdoses, including those caused by fentanyl. Fentanyl is commonly found in cocaine, opioids, and methamphetamine, as well as counterfeit prescription pills (e.g., fake Adderall). Narcan has saved the lives of thousands of Mainers. Participants will learn about how to recognize and respond to a suspected overdose, including how to administer Narcan. We will discuss what happens to a person’s body during an overdose and how Narcan works. Instructors will break down, step by step, how to administer intranasal Narcan.

Are you curious about Reiki and how it can benefit you? Join us for an informative introduction to this powerful energy healing technique. Reiki involves a practitioner gently placing their hands on or above the body to help restore balance and promote healing. In this class, you’ll learn: What Reiki is How Reiki works What Reiki is used for The history and origins of Reiki The benefits of Reiki What to expect during a Reiki session This class is a great opportunity to ask questions and experience a Reiki sampler, but please note: this is not a certification class to practice Reiki.
