Try the Potter's Wheel One Day Class May 18 W25

Have you ever wanted to try the potter's wheel? Sign up for our two-hour "Try-It Night". With the help of a teaching artist and some clay, you'll be shown how to center and pull the clay up to make a vessel. Great for families and friends! Bring an apron, trim those fingernails, pull your long hair back, and dress for a mess! This class includes a two-hour session and one or two finished pieces. Depends on how you do! If you make more than two and love all the lumpy children equally and want to keep them, each additional piece is $10.
Finished work will be ready for pickup after 4-6 weeks during regular class times or by appt. Usually, pieces are ready mid-month the month following your class date.
This class requires a 48-hour advance notice for cancellations. Kennebec Clay Works is operated by Ceramic Artist and Educator, Malley Weber. KCW has many great instructors.

First Aid
with Charissa Kerr, Windham/Raymond Adult Education
The First Aid class includes: medical emergencies, bleeding that you can see, bleeding you cannot see, treating for shock, and how and when to call emergency services. The course cost includes a blend of powerpoint and video, instructor and practical components, and a certificate of completion. Optional workbook is available for $10 (cash please) from instructor at class.

Essential Oils 101
with Elissa Nauman, Gorham Adult Education
Do you use essential oils but want to know more about them? Or maybe you have no experience but are curious? In this one-night workshop, we will discuss what essential oils are, how they are made, and how they can enhance your life. We will touch upon some of the more commonly used essential oils and will also cover safety precautions. You will learn about the different qualities of essential oils on the market and how to make an educated decision when faced with many other brand choices. Participants will go home with a spray blend and a roller bottle blend that they will make (for a materials fee of $5). Elissa "Elle" Nauman, MS, is the founder of Restoring Through Nature, LLC. She guides clients to achieve their physical, emotional, and spiritual health goals through the support of essential oils and energy work (Reiki and IET). She has a Master of Science in Counseling and is certified in essential oils coaching, Usui Reiki Level 2, Integrated Energy Therapy, Reiki Crystal Healing, and is a Certified Chakra Therapist.

Maine Boating Safety
with Brad Rounds, Windham/Raymond Adult Education
Participation in a boating education course will teach how to properly operate and maintain a boat. The Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife course is approved by NASBLA. Passage of a final exam is required. The course covers proper operation and safety (boat handling, equipment, trailering), laws, emergencies and cold-water survival, self-help first aid, and environment/ethics. You must attend the entire course to receive your certificate.

A certification from the American Heart Association will be presented at course completion. Workbooks are not included with this class but can be purchased in advance for $10.
