Abstract Studio—Limited Color, Unlimited Rectangles

$165

with Ed Higgins, Merrymeeting Community & Adult Education

Calendar Dec 9, 2024 at 1 pm, runs for 10 weeks

Have you ever wanted to do a piece only inches tall, but several feet wide? Or floor to ceiling tall but inches wide? In this class the abstract atelier will continue to gain steam and grow in popularity. Working together to explore limited color abstract works on rectangles that are only limited by your imagination. Limited color helps abstract artists concentrate on composition; and breaking out of the golden mean rectangle will likewise open new possibilities in your work. As usual, we’ll have a short art history presentation at the end of each class. This ten week course is open to any past participants in Ed’s Abstract atelier, sketching studio, oil painting, watercolor, or plein air classes. New students are welcome, but check with the instructor prior to signing up to see if this style of studio class is right for you. *No Class: 12/23, 12/30, 1/20, 2/17. **Special note about art materials: Please do not call our office about materials. Come to the first class with your favorite sketchbook and drawing pencils & pens. Suggested materials will be discussed by the instructor on the first day of classes. Thank you.
