Smartphone Photography

Unlock the full potential of the camera you have RIGHT THERE in your pocket with a 'smartphone' camera . The camera you ALWAYS have with you! This class will reveal many of the universal tips of photography from Professional Photographer Noel Topping and bring them to your phone photography. We will be covering things like: choosing a phone (if you don't already have one); why use your phone over a standard camera; accessories, apps, sharing and photography tips and tricks specifically for your smartphone photography. Make your photos look professional and have fun!

To enroll in enrichment classes, particpants must be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in school.

Understanding Excel

This class is through the National Digital Equity Center, a program dedicated to providing Maine students with computer skills and digital literacy. In this class students will learn about the Microsoft program Excel. They will gain a better understanding of spreadsheets which can be used to track numbers, form lists, and data entry.

Google Mail (Gmail) Session 2

In this workshop, you’ll be shown how to set up a Gmail account and you’ll learn how to send mail, read and forward emails, receive and read mail and attach a document to an email.  You’ll also learn how to attach a document to an email and download and read a document that has been sent to you.  Basic computer skills, including hardware and software basics, and email are required for this workshop.  You can bring your own laptop or use one provided.  Makeup class (if needed) 04/03/20.

Beginner Drone Flying

This 15-hour course is designed for anyone using or looking to use drones. We cover the operation of various models, hands-on flight practice, uses and applications across industries, FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) regulations, operational risks, insurance, career opportunities and much more. If you are currently working, or considering a career in, real estate, construction, transportation, agriculture, insurance, public safety, photography, media, inspection, etc. or want to start a business, you’ll learn how your industry can be transformed in new, cost-effective ways. We will discuss how the citizens of Maine are using these unmanned aircraft in their businesses and how best you can employ drones in your business or start a new one. Prerequisites: Must have a minimum of 8th grade English reading and writing level, and comfortable using a computer and internet browser. NOTE: Class times include a working lunch. Please come prepared with a bagged lunch, snacks and drinks. Microwave and fridge are available for use.
