Introduction to Photography

What is the rule of thirds? Why are my images boring? Why does my friend take the same picture as I do and her picture looks better? Bring your camera to class and learn how to make a great image rather than simply take a photograph. We will focus on what constitutes a great image and how to think about composition, lighting and subject matter. We will compare and contrast work by contemporary artists in order to understand how to develop our own unique statements as photographers.

How to Get the Most Out of the Internet: A Guide-Old Town

As times change, so too do our resources at hand. This class will cover some basic but helpful ways to get the most out of the internet, including how to conduct a better search on Google, avoid scams, distinguish between reputable websites and 'tabloid journalism', find the best deals on hotels and flights, automatically find promo codes for online shopping, and plenty more. There will be a period for questions about specific topics, with hands-on training if desired.
Microsoft Excel, Intermediate
with Ralph White, Bangor Adult & Community Education
After a review of the basics, practical applications will be presented with features and functions of Microsoft Excel 2016. Students will be guided through the process of creating, formatting and editing spreadsheets. Form layout and design as well as mathematical calculations will complete this learning experience. This class utilizes Microsoft Excel 2016.
To enroll in enrichment classes, particpants must be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in school. 7 classes.
Requirements / Prerequisites
General computer operations skills and basic Excel skills.
