Western Mountain Senior College--Annual Membership
with MSAD#44 Adult & Continuing Education
Membership with WMSC covers membership cost for programs from September 2023 to August 2024. There may be an additional cost for specific programs. Serving primarily the over-50 population, with Associate Membership available for anyone over 18. ESL (English as a Second Language

Aroostook County Adult Education Programs are all partnering with the EnGen online learning platform to provide ESL instruction, support and career guidance.
EnGen is a personalized, career-aligned English learning platform that offers 130+ courses that equip learners of all levels with both language and career skills to access opportunities in high-demand fields. Courses range from Beginner English Literacy to more advanced career-aligned courses in the fields of healthcare, manufacturing, retail, hospitality and many more.
When you enroll in these courses through Adult Education you will have access to all the EnGEn courses as well as support and instruction from a local instructor who will work with you to ensure your success in ESL. You will also have the option to work with the local instructor either in person or remotely via video conferencing.

Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Certification Training

Our communities are looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.
Children’s behavioral health services are vital to Maine’s children with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health disorders and their families. And the need in our area is great! As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.
We are excited to connect our communities with Woodfords Family Services for this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a waitlist for services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace.
Prerequisites:
A high school diploma or equivalency. Proof of education is required.
Must be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course.
An administration fee of $25 is required at registration.
A reading comprehension assessment is required prior to completing the application, administered through your Kennebec Neighbors Adult Education program. This requirement may be waived by showing successful completion of a college-level English course.
Citizenship and ELL Civics Education

Improve English speaking, reading and writing skills with civic education focus while preparing for the Naturalization test. Mini lessons developed to cover topics ranging from American Government, American History, Geography, and Rights and Responsibilities of U.S. Citizens.
