This training will prepare you to help children who are currently on a wait list for services and will prepare you for employment through local social service agencies. This program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. In this course you will complete 12 online modules and three 4-hour live sessions. Once the modules are completed, you will receive the online blood borne pathogen training and Child and Adult First Aid & CPR certification. In just 40 hours, the remote training program can get you certified and on your way to a life changing profession.

Required: Copy of High School Diploma or equivalent. You must be a Maine resident and at least 18 years old to take this course. We will send you the BHP registration form to fill out and return to us in order to start the program.

You will be equipped to work with children who need services, while preparing yourself for employment with local social service agencies and/or school programs. You have 6 months from your registration day to complete the course.You will complete 12 online modules, then participate in two Live sessions: BHP Live Day (8-9 hours offered in-person or virtually) and Ethical Considerations (2.5 hours offered virtually). If you're great with kids and want to make a significant difference in the lives of children and families, consider this BHP training and certification.  BHP allows you to work with children either in the school or home/community setting; it is required for direct care providers working in Children's Behavioral Health Services.  Additional requirements include:  current Child & Adult CPR/First Aid certification and completion of an OSHA compliant Bloodborne Pathogens training.  Individuals must be at least 18 years old upon completion of course.  Additional education requirements must be met to be eligible to provide MaineCare Section 65 services.

We are excited to connect our communities with Woodfords Family Services for this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a waitlist for services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace.

• You will complete 12 online modules then two 4-hour live sessions. 
• Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online bloodborne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. 
• The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours.
• Assistance with job placement is provided to anyone who completes the program.
• Assistance with technology may be available.

 Prerequisites:

• A high school diploma or equivalency. Proof of education is required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course.
• An administration fee of $25 is required at registration.
• A reading comprehension assessment is required prior to completing the application, administered through your local Maine Adult Education program. This requirement may be waived by showing successful completion of a college-level English course.
