Tai Chi

This slow movement excercise is great for people of all ages and skill levels. In this 8-week program, you will walk through the different series of movements of Tai Chi.

Wheel Throwing (Beginner/Intermediate): Wednesday Afternoon, Session III
with Mackenzie Martin, Gorham Adult Education
Join us in this fun, in-depth exploration of clay! This class will provide an introduction to throwing on the pottery wheel and becoming acquainted with our studio and materials. In these 7-week sessions you will learn about all the stages of working with clay: throwing, trimming, surfacing, firing, glazing, and beyond! Our small class size and experienced teachers allow for plenty of individual instruction and learning at your own pace, so whatever experience level you are coming in with works for us. You will leave with your own unique body of work and an exciting new skill/hobby! All classes are held at the Art and Nature Center at Tannery Brook.
Wednesday Afternoon, Session III: 7 classes, 4/30-6/11, 2:00pm-4:00pm, $250
Additional, optional work time will be offered for current students and members on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays 10am-1pm and Fridays from 5pm-8pm. This optional work time is first come, first serve for available wheel use and table space. The studio will be closed on federal holidays.

In this hands-on experience, you’ll craft your own bagel dough from scratch, knead it to perfection, and master the art of hand-rolling. As the dough transforms into those chewy, golden rings, we’ll guide you through the traditional boiling and baking process - the very same steps that make Brooklyn bagels legendary. Whether you’re a seasoned baker or a curious food enthusiast, the class promises a delightful journey into bagel bliss. All ingredients, materials, equipment and recipes will be provided. Bagels contain gluten.
Wooden Spoons: Introduction to Whittling - NEW!

Spoon carving is a wonderful craft that allows you to create functional and beautiful wooden spoons using traditional hand tools. These spoons will be the size of a serving spoon with a handle of 6-8 inches.
Map & Compass Basics

Map and Compass Basics is a Next Step program from Maine INland Fisheries and Wildlife. This workshop teaches use of maps to obtain distance, direction, and detail information and how to use an orienteering compass. Also learn hot to use map and compass together. If you have a preferred compass, bring it, but loaners are available, It's a combination indoor/outdoor session.
