Tropical Terrariums - the Beginning

Love plants but don’t have a “green thumb”? Come learn all the basics and needs to create your own “Nature in a Glass”. Discover how ecosystems and “clean up crews” work. Learn a bit of the science involved as we prepare the soil and the plants, arranging them in a visually appealing style. This is a great way to connect with nature and creative a living work of art! Writing Prep for the HiSET: Session II

Do you need to increase your skills in order to pass the HiSET® exam? Classes are held at The Learning Center at Jack Memorial in Buxton. You must be at least 17years old to enter our program. Call us at 929-9185 and start preparing for the HiSET® today!
About Joyce: Joyce was a teacher of English and literacy at Bonny Eagle High School and continues to be a teacher of English Composition at Southern Maine Community College. For many years, she was employed by the York County daily newspaper, the Journal Tribune, as a reporter and editor.
Acrylic Painted On Floor Cloth
with Jean Schwab, Kittery Adult Education
Make a uniquely designed floor cloth with acrylics using the traditional process of floor cloth construction. No acrylic painting experience is necessary. Create your own design, or Jean will have a couple of designs to choose from. Map out the design onto the canvas, choose from a selection of paint colors and add your creative details. The floor cloth will be approximately 2’ by 3. The material fee will cover the primed floor cloth, paint, glue and protective polyurethane finish. Bring: large and small paint brushes.

Maine Death with Dignity

There is still a lot of misunderstanding and misinformation about Maine's compassionate end-of-life care option. Many providers and patients in Maine are still not familiar with Maine's Death with Dignity Act. In effect since September 2019, the law permits physicians to practice medical aid-in-dying under specific circumstances. Know the facts and, if qualified, the right to access medical aid in dying if they choose. Join this class to get fact-based information and all the details you need to know about Maine's law, how to have the conversation with your physician, and how to qualify for the law or support your loved one who may be qualifying. (No materials/supplies required). You will recieve a link to login online for this class.

Veterans Benefits

Veterans! Come one – come all! Join usto learn about the three major departments within the Veterans Administration,with a focus on the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA). Types of VA benefits, qualifying requirements (eligibility criteria), and the claims process for each will be explained. The recently implemented PACT Act greatly expanded the scope of medical conditions that are “presumptively” connected to service in certain areas. Whether you’ve been “in the system” for a while, or have yet to access VA for benefits or healthcare, please attend and learn what is out there for you! Spouses of veterans are welcome as well.
