No experience needed for this fun step by step painting class. But there IS a twist!  I'm a psychic medium, so I also offer a brief intuitive message to each person based on their painting! I'm always amazed at the messages that come through just from the paintings!  All supplies are included, plus a brief message from the painting.

It is the most commonly used word processor software. It is used to create professional quality documents, letters, reports, resumes, etc and also allows you to edit or modify your new or existing document. This would be a 6 week offering, with 4 modules and a final project.

Mobile Making Workshop

Have you ever wondered how a mobile gets balanced? The workshop is a glance behind the scenes. We will create some simple shapes out of recycled box board to learn the mechanics of mobile making. Please bring scissors. This will get you started to make a more beautifully finished piece at home. Should you want to decorate your piece in class, you are welcome to bring some markers or colored paper and glue to the class. There will be a handout, so you don’t forget the steps.

Naloxone Administration

 Training Keeping Naloxone (Narcan nasal spray) on hand can help save a life. Having a kit nearby could help a friend, family member, or someone in the community in the event of an emergency. This Narcan administration training will guide you through how to use Narcan, as well as helpful information on opioids and how Narcan interacts with these substances. This training is free, on behalf of Healthy Lincoln County, a tier-two distributor of Narcan in the State of Maine. Upon completion of this training, you will receive one kit, with two doses of Narcan, to add to your first aid kit or AED box. Additionally, you will receive supplemental resources to have on hand should you want to review what was discussed in the live training event. 

National Service Through AmeriCorps: Informational Workshop

This informative workshop will provide attendees with all the information they need to enter National Service through the AmeriCorps program.

AmeriCorps is the program whereby citizens can Make A Difference in their community by enrolling to lend their energy and ability to advance a well thought out project and program. AmeriCorps members receive a stipend, fully paid health insurance (full time) and an education award that can be applied to any post-secondary school tuition/fees. Member terms are full or part time and there are many opportunities available, including the Gray-New Gloucester area.

The education award can be used to pay down your student loans, tuition or transferred (over 55) for the college expenses of a grandchild, child, or foster child.

Hear more about how you can enlist to provide National Service through AmeriCorps in your own community by attending a lively in person seminar.

There is no charge to attend a workshop and participants are under no obligation to join.

NEW Holistic Support for a Healthy Menstrual Cycle

Following the framework of Earth's seasons, this workshop offers resources and information for folks who want to experience more ease in their body's cycles. We will explore herbal and nutritional supplements as well as simple recipes and actions you can take to support a happier, easier menstrual cycle. Topics covered include commonly experienced pain and discomfort, mood and nervous system distress, irregular cycles, cycle tracking, digestive support, and much more. 

Everyone who registers will receive the recording of the workshop along with a multi-paged handout with plant profiles, recipes, and other supportive information.  Andrea Webb is a menstruating human, herbalist, and mother in the Kennebec Valley of Maine. She is currently in private practice and has over seven years of clinical experience supporting folks through all their cycles and seasons.

Porch Sign Painting

You have seen these tall wood signs propped up on people's front entrances. Now you can make them yourself. These signs are 48" tall and 9.5' wide. You get to choose ahead of time your stencil design (so many designs to choose from) and your project's background paint/stain color. When you arrive at class, you get to do all the fun stuff. There will be a lot of paint colors to choose from to make your project your own. The class is instructor-led so you will have the experience of Gabrielle to guide you along the way. Learn how to avoid those nasty bleeds on your project and stencil with confidence. When you leave, you take home that evening a beautiful project. Materials fee of $20 (cash, please) is payable to the instructor at class. Gabrielle Lovi has been an artisan for over 20 years and is a board member of the United Maine Craftsmen.

Preparing for the Inevitable: A Conversation with a Funeral Director

Perhaps you, or others you know, have experienced the death of a loved one and been thrust into making funeral arrangements. This course is for those who are thinking, “I’m going to make my arrangements ahead of time!” Ever been to a funeral home or attended a memorial service and wondered about the official person standing in the back with the dark suit? Have you ever wondered how “they do it every day?” During this time together all of these questions and whatever else comes up will be the topic. From becoming a Funeral Director (school requirements, licensure, work/life balance), to setting up and funding pre-arrangements, veteran benefits & Mainecare planning, come and have a casual conversation with a professional who can answer some very difficult questions.
