MAINE GEOLOGY
with Fred Connor, Sacopee Valley Adult & Community Education

At the first meeting, Fred will introduce you to the historical geology of Southern Maine to include, but not limited to, how this area was formed and the events which made it happen. From plate tectonics to volcanism and glaciation, the geological formation is astounding. Discussion of local wells, radon, earthquakes, and Mount Cutler will also be included. The second meeting, focusing on physical geology, will include a field trip to Hiram Falls. Along the way, you will be introduced to pegmatite granite, basalt dikes, faults, and minerals. Then return to the classroom to discuss what we saw and other local features. Please feel free to bring your locally found rocks and minerals. Please pre-register as a minimum of 4 people is required to run the course.

An Evening with Loves Ones/Friends with Medium Jamie Day

You're invited to witness the connection with our passed loved ones in Spirit for messages of love, healing, and validation! This is your chance for a connection with heaven!
Jamie has been working as a Medium and Mentor since 2016 and is eager to help show you that love truly has no bounds! During this group reading, experience several participants will receive unique messages of their own, and enjoy watching others receive support from the other side. Those who don't receive readings often report postcards, or special signs from their own loved ones through someone else.
After the readings, feel free to stick around and ask questions about Jamie, the process of mediumship, or your own spiritual development journey! A great chance to pick the brain of an experienced teacher.
Bob Ross® Oil Painting-Black Seascape (May/Evening)

You can learn to paint just like Bob Ross does on TV—in a few hours! Classes are suited for beginners; you need no previous experience to attend. Annette Babcock is a Certified Ross instructor® and is certified to teach the Ross Landscape Method®.
Black Seascape from Joy of Painting® Season 12 Episode 8. Using a black 16 x20 canvas we will create a crashing night seascape that could easily be right here on our own beautiful coast of Maine. Genuine Bob Ross Inc.® materials are used and provided. Students are asked to bring a roll of paper towels for their personal use. This is an in-person class.

CPR
with Charissa Kerr, Windham/Raymond Adult Education

Learn about adult, child and infant CPR and AED use, adult, child and infant choking, and how and when to call emergency services. Course includes use of manikins, video, certified instruction, practical components, and a certificate of completion. Practical time has been increased to ensure you have enough time to gain confidence in your skills. Optional workbook is available for $10 (cash please) from instructor at class.

Driving Dynamics
with RSU 54/MSAD 54 Adult and Community Education

The Maine Driving Dynamics course is a driver improvement course that is aimed to improve a student's defensive driving awareness and abilities.
This two-night course includes discussion of collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits, and attitudes, and the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Mainer's Highways. Our goal is to save lives, prevent injuries, and reduce vehicle-related crashes.
A student who compelted the course will receive a three point credit on their driving record. It may take up to two weeks for processing. Questions regarding your license should be addressed to Bureau of Motor Vehicles at 207-624-9000

Hammered Silver Jewelry

Come create an original piece of hammered sterling silver jewelry. You will be able to make a pendant or earrings. There will be a variety of stones/beads and silver to choose from. Please bring any jewelry tools you may have.
The materials fee of $10 (CASH) is due at the beginning of class and is paid to the instructor. Additional materials may be purchased if needed.

Hampden--Introduction to Clay: Handbuilding & the Pottery Wheel Session 3

Satisfy your curiosity about clay! Come get your hands dirty in this fun introduction to handbuilding and throwing clay on the pottery wheel! This 4 week class will provide hands-on instruction covering the fundamentals of clay both handbuilding and throwing: centering, opening, pulling up and shaping your pots. You’ll learn about the stages that clay goes through – from wet, to leather-hard, to bone-dry and about the hand-tools used for trimming and creating texture on pots. Please wear casual, loose fitting clothes and closed-toe shoes that can get dirty. If you would like to hand build please call the office to register. We have four pottery wheels that will be shared and utilized during each session.
