This 4 hour American Red Cross in person training will give you the skills to help save a life and it is the accepted certification for support workers and teachers and is an opportunity to achieve the skills of assisting someone in an emergency until first responders arrive. Learn the techniques of responding to various emergency situations with a combination of guided lectures, videos, and hands on practices.

Instructor Jeffrey Darnell Carpenter is the Training Coordinator/Workforce Recruiter for Granite Bay Care in Scarborough and has many years of experience in teaching. His passion for subject matter and his presentation skills are accessible to everyone. He is a seasoned educator and public speaker with years of sharing instructional and relevant presentations regarding everything from enhancing job experiences to the visual and performing arts. His passion, humor, and knowledge is infectious and inspiring.

We will work out to improve strength, muscle tone, and flexibility with resistance bands, balls, and body weight, incorporating the newest techniques in personal training for cognitive health. We will work on improving your balance, gait, and confidence with agility training. Wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, bring yoga mats, a friend, or your own exercise bands if you like.

Instructor: Jane Wyman has been an ACE-Certified Personal Fitness Trainer for 20 years.

Nordic walking with snowshoes and poles can burn more calories than regular walking, it develops upper body strength while reducing impact on joints. Suitable for the beginners.  Please wear comfortable footwear and dress for the Maine outdoor winter weather. Bring your own walking poles or let us know if you may need some.
