Forest Therapy Information Night and Mindful Guided Walk

Forest bathing, known as shinrin-yoku in Japanese, is the practice of spending time in nature,especially in forests, to connect with the environment and enjoy its therapeutic benefits. This practice encourages individuals to intentionally immerse themselves in nature, often throughslow, mindful walks, while actively engaging their senses to fully experience their surroundings.

This practice promotes numerous health benefits that include:

 Reduced stress and anxiety  Lowered blood pressure  Improved mood and focus  Boosted immune function  Improved sleep quality 

The two-session course is led by Aimee Dion, the owner of Mindful Wandering. Aimee holds a B.A. in Psychology and is a certified fitness trainer. She is also a certified Mindful Outdoor Guide through Kripalu’s School of Mindful Leadership and a trained Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.

Adult and Child Emergency Care Course

This comprehensive program trains layperson rescuers in CPR techniques and the use of an AED for infants, children, and adults, along with basic first aid for common injuries. Led by an instructor, the course includes videos and hands-on skills training. Participants should bring lunch and wear comfortable clothing for floor work. Upon completion, a digital certificate valid for two years will be issued from First Response Training International. The program meets OSHA and ILCOR standards and is accepted by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Spanish for Medical Professionals

Are you frustrated by the communication gap that can occur between you and your Spanish-speaking patients? This Spanish class is designed specifically for healthcare professionals. You will practice the basic, practical language skills needed to effectively communicate with your Spanish-speaking patients and their families. You will learn the basics of the language, gain an understanding of the culture, and know how to ask the questions crucial to quality healthcare.
