Introduction to iPhone Basics

It is safe to say that the vast majority of iPhone users rarely use more than a fraction of the features available to them. In this course, students will learn to use their iPhones to the best possible advantage. Here are some of the critical features we’ll cover: Apple ID and password; structure of the iPhone (buttons and how they work); best apps to have and how to get them; how to text, phone, FaceTime, and email; using the Control Center; master- ing Settings; updating operating systems; using key apps; understanding the apps that come with your iPhone and more.

BoomerTECH Adventures helps Boomers and Seniors create, connect, and contribute using today’s technology. These courses are fully asynchronous, online courses that students complete on their own time and at your own speed. Each course is a PDF booklet with information about the class, instructions on using the class, and the content of the class (videos and articles). The instructors provide personalized support for the class via email and/or online chat.

Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life. Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families. The need in our area is great!

We are excited to connect our community to this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to help children who are receiving Behavioral Health services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services providers. The training can be started at any time and finished at your own pace.

You will complete 12 online modules and 12 hours of live instruction (offered virtually). An online Bloodborne Pathogens training, as well as Child & Adult First Aid & CPR training, will be made available to you, if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training takes about 45 hours to complete. Registration is ongoing until June 30, 2022.

Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register. (Individuals must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent to get certified).

This course is designed to help adults improve their reading, writing, proofreading, editing, and revising to prepare for standardized exams.  We cover the basics of grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, paragraph development, and will eventually write effective essays with clear ideas, smooth transitions, and logical support.  We will practice planning, research, prewriting, and organizing our writing.  Learning to proofread for punctuation, usage, content, and support will be emphasized.  This class is an in-person class; ongoing enrollment.
