English for Job Preparation
with Jean Pierre Akayezu, Mora Katz, and Bright Musuamba, Portland Adult Education
This intensive course is designed for intermediate English language learners who are searching for their first job in the US. Students will learn the job search and application process in the United States and will expand their English skills. Students will refine their customer service skills and learn financial literacy skills from ProsperityME teachers. This course does not require US work authorization to participate.

COMPUTER LITERACY FOR ADULTS & SENIORS, Session 1

It’s not just a matter of teaching old, young, or other “dogs” new tricks. You can do it! Technology is more user-friendly than you may realize. Learn the basics of informational and transferable skills focusing on what you want to do and how to simplify life using your computer, laptop, or tablet as well as the Internet and Gmail. Bring your laptop or tablet. If you need one to use, just let us know. Please pre-register as space is limited.

Machining, Part II - April 2024
with Ben Scott, Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education
This course is for students who have completed a basic machining course or have prior machining experience. This course includes safety, manual milling, part layout, drilling, and tapping. Turning will involve 4 jaw chuck set up, boring and threading. Bring safety glasses and wear reinforced toe shoes to class. Please complete the 2-part form at this link before the first class.

Accounting, Intro to
with Deb Seigars, Portland Adult Education
As an introductory course, Intro to Accounting teaches the planning, analyzing and interpreting of transactions that occur in a small for-profit single-owner business. These transactions are processed and recorded through an entire accounting cycle with the ultimate objective of preparing financial statements that summarize the results of operations for that business. Basic accounting principles are taught with emphasis on accuracy and business ethics.
Please note: the first and last day of this class will be held in person at Portland Adult Education.

CPR, AED, Standard First Aid
with Andrew Eckman, Five Town CSD Adult & Community Education
There will be an emphasis on life-threatening conditions and a focus on critical life-saving skills. Decision tables that provide a concise summary of what signs to look for and what treatment steps to take during an emergency. New and updated content on CPR, AED, first aid, epinephrine injectors (Epi-Pen®), hemorrhage control, opioid overdose response (Naloxone/Narcan®), compression-only CPR, and COVID-19. Accepted by most Federal and state regulatory and licensing agencies. MUST ATTEND ALL CLASS SESSIONS.

Google Suite for the Office

Google Suite for the Office introduces students to Google Apps including but not limited to:
- Gmail
- Google Drive
- Google Docs
- Google Sheets
- Google Slides
- Google Calendar
- Google Meet
It explores the uses of these Apps and their basic functions which will allow the users to increase their productivity and collaboration. Students in this class will learn how to utilize these cloud computing tools to increase productivity, communication and collaboration at school and in the workplace.
