Personal Support Specialist
This class 60-hour certification class will start in January and will be held at The Landings in Cape Elizabeth, ME PSS certification is required for direct care workers for certain home care programs and residential care facilities. If you are a PCA crossing over to employment in a residential care facility you must complete the PSS Curriculum. In addition, if you are providing direct service to residents for at least 20 hours a week in a Level IV residential care facility you must complete this training.

ACCOUNTING I - PART II

This is a continuation of the Accounting I - Part I class. We will continue with the text and working papers, covering chapters 13 through 24. Topics covered will include payroll, accounts receivable, processing, adjusting entries, trial balance preparation, financial statements, closing entries, acquiring capital, depreciation, accruals, and more. Prerequisite: Accounting I, Part I. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.
INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS
with Jeffery Merckens, Augusta Adult and Community Education
You will be introduced to the basic computer terminology, a computer operating system, and application software. This course will enable you to work independently on a personal computer with beginning skills in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Typing skill is an advantage but not a requirement for this course. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.
Microsoft Applications & Google Docs, Session 1

In this class, Chris will cover Microsoft Office Applications (Work, Excel and PowerPoint) AND the Google equivalent of each. You will learn to create and edit letters and documents, work with spreadsheets and create slide presentations for personal and/or business use. Depending on the needs of the class, we may also begin working with tables and graphics. Basic computer experience required. Wednesdays, 6-8pm. Choose from 3 different sessions [Session 1: January 29 - March 4] or [Session 2: March 18 - April 15] or [Session 3: May 6 – June 3]. Registration: $50 per 5-week session.
Microsoft Excel for Beginners
with Ralph White, Bangor Adult & Community Education
Learn how to create Excel spreadsheets for a variety of purposes. Topics include data entry and formatting, formulas, commands, and functions. This class is for those who have never used Excel.This class utilizes Microsoft Excel 2016.>
Students must be familiar with Windows and have basic computer skills. 7 classes. No class on February 19.
To enroll in enrichment classes, participants must be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in school.
Understanding How to Heat Your Home

Randy’s back!!! Last year’s hugely successful plumbing class continues now with how to best heat your home. In this class you will learn the fundamentals of home heating. We will explore the 3 Major components of a central heating system and Space Heater Options as well as look at Fuel Sources, Distribution System, types of Heat Emitters. We will also look at Heating Domestic Hot Water.

Randy attended 2 Year Technical College and has worked in the industry 40 Years. He has made connections with some of the top Manufacturers and Individuals Nationally and Internationally. He has travelled to Europe on several occasions as a guest of Heating Equipment Manufacturers.
Introduction to Beekeeping 1/29

This is a one-session overview of keeping bees with brief presentations about the time, commitment and financial considerations involved with the hobby. We will review the equipment necessary to establish your own hive and options for placement of hives at various locations. Seasonal management of hives, pests and diseases of the hive and products of the hive will be discussed. This is an interactive program with time for questions and answers.
