Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Certification
with Woodfords Family Services, Windham/Raymond Adult Education
Make a difference in a child’s life as a BHP. This online training will equip you to help children with disabilities, autism and mental health disorder who are receiving behavioral health services and to prepare for local employment through social services providers. Includes 12 online modules and 12 hours of live, virtual instruction and bloodborne pathogens training.
An online child & adult first aid & CPR training is available if needed. The entire training takes about 45 hours to complete. You must be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course, and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Behavioral Health Professional Certification

NEW CERTIFICATE PROGRAM! We are please to offer this certification program with our new partner, Woodfords Family Services. Woodsfords Family Services administers the Behavioral Health Professional Training & Certificate Program for the State of Maine.
This program is completey ONLINE, self-paced, and can be started any time after you enroll. Once you have registered here online, WFS will reach out to you to begin their enrollment process.
There are 12 online modules and three, four-hour live sessions. Once you have completed the 12 modules and three live sessions, you will need to complete the OSHA-compliant Bloodborne Pathogen (BBP) Training and have Adult & Child CPR/First Aid with AED (if you have not done so already).
BHP training and certification is required for direct care providers working in Children’s Behavioral Health Services in the school, residential, or home/community setting, in programs receiving MaineCare reimbursement for section 28 RCS, 28 RCS Specialized, 97 Children’s Residential, and 65 HCT or Day Treatment Services. Additional requirements for BHP certification include current Child & Adult CPR/First Aid certification and completion of an OSHA compliant Bloodborne Pathogens training.
To be eligible to take the BHP course, individuals must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Proof of education is required. Additional education requirements must be met to be eligible to provide MaineCare Section 65 services.

This teacher professional development course will teach you about the varied needs of educationally disadvantaged and at-risk students in your classroom. Your students come to you with a diverse set of needs, and you will need to implement strategies that help support each student's success in your classroom. You will analyze Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, consider the needs of your own students, and then work to evaluate and implement strategies for support in your classroom. By understanding the symptoms, risk factors, criteria for diagnosis, and treatment options available, depression can be recognized early, and depressive symptoms can be reduced or alleviated. Death by suicide, which can result from depression, is a tragic reaction to stressful life circumstances. Understanding the issues surrounding suicide and mental health is a vital step in preventing suicide, helping others in crisis, and changing the way all of us view suicide and mental health issues.
IC3 Training

IC3 is a certification for anyone who wants to demonstrate critical computer and internet skills. It can be taken as part of our computer support program or a stand alone course. Students who achieve IC3 certification possess the validated skills and knowledge required for basic use of computer hardware, software, networks, and the Internet. Not only do you receive tools for success in the 21st Century classroom but also for higher education, employment, and life. To become IC3 certified, you must pass 3 level exams. The course includes training and practice tests. Certification exams are held after you successfully complete the course and pass the practice exam. Schedule set with student upon enrollment.

Maine Children with intellectual challenges, autism, and mental health disorders, as well as their families, depend on Children's Behavioral Health Services, and there is a huge need in our area! A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) is an essential member of a child's treatment team and has the chance to have an instant influence while assisting children in reaching their full potential.
We are thrilled to provide this fantastic Blended training and certificate program to our community. You will be equipped to work with children who need services thanks to this program, while preparing yourself for employment with local social service agencies and/or school programs. Start whenever you choose, and go at your own pace. You have 6 months from your registration day to complete the course.
You will complete 12 online modules, then participate in two Live sessions: BHP LiveDay (8-9 hours offered in-person or virtually) and Ethical Considerations (2.5 hours offered virtually). You will also receive a stipend to obtain Child & Adult First Aid/CPR certification and free online training in blood-borne pathogens. Our free remote training program can get you licensed certified and started in a career that will change your life in just 40 hours.
Required: Must be a Maine resident and at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent to become certified. The state also requires that you take an in-person cpr/first aid class.. The cost of up to $100 will be reimbursed once you have completed the American Red Cross or American Heart Saver Course. Woodfords CPR/FA classes in Westbrook, Manchester and Brewer are free for all workforce learners.

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant training prepares students to assist physicians by performing functions related to the clinical responsibilities of a medical office. The program includes hands-on labs and a clinical externship opportunity at a local healthcare provider. Upon successful completion of this program, students are eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) national examination. Prerequisites: CASAS math and reading assessment, immunizations, and background check. Class location and schedules vary.
