Whether you are just thinking about subbing or are a seasoned veteran looking to add fresh ideas and "tools" to your repertoire, you'll thoroughly enjoy this professional development opportunity. You will tour several schools within the Gorham School District and meet various Gorham School District staff members. Learn about the required substitute paperwork and protocol, strategies to keep students on task, tips to make lessons more appealing to reluctant learners, and tried and true behavior modifiers. Participants completing the training will receive a differential upon subbing for Gorham School District. Instructor: Quinton Donahue

Behavioral Health Professional Training BHP JAN 7th

Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.
A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) makes an impact on a child while helping them learn to grow and develop. This BLENDED training program (online modules and a live, instructor-led, virtual session) will equip you with ways to help children who are in need of services and will also prepare you for employment through local social services agencies.
Work at your own pace completing 12 online modules prior to attending the live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules and live sessions are completed, you will receive links to bloodborne pathogen training and Child and Adult First Aid & CPR training. The entire program requirements will take about 45 hours to complete. Individuals must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent to register.

CNA Certified Nursing Assistant - January 2025
with Terry Adkins, Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education
Students enrolled in this certificate program complete a minimum of 130 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training, meeting all state licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the state competency exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. Class size is limited so applying early is advised. Funding opportunities are available through the Pen Bay Apprentice Program "Earn While You Learn", as well as several other community programs. Prerequisite: high school diploma or equivalent.
