The Learning Center is open to all adults in need of academic instruction and guidance. Hours vary by day, and we will try to meet you on your schedule. Our staff provides individualized instruction in the areas of:

  • High School Equivalency
  • HiSET Prep
  • Accuplacer Prep
  • Math and ELA instruction to prepare you for college-level coursework
  • General reading, writing, and math tutoring for anyone pursuing college or career education
  • Workforce credential or certification tutoring and prep
  • College and Career advising

All services through the Learning Center are FREE of charge. If you or anyone you know could use any of these services, please contact us.

ANDROSCOGGIN HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING

Androscoggin Home Healthcare and Hospice, a non-profit organization, is looking for hospice volunteers to provide companionship to patients and respite for family members. During training you will learn the history and philosophy of hospice, family dynamics, spirituality, communication, adult disease process and other end-of-life issues. Training includes both classroom time and online training. Volunteers are asked to make a 1-year commitment 2-4 hours per week.

Learn skills to paint and draft a quilt block pattern. Class will cover color theory, history of barn paintings, brush handling techniques, drafting geometric patterns, and finishing with varnish. Each student will create a 1’ x 1’ barn quilt.
