CNA-Certified Medical Technician

State Approved Certified Medical Technician Program. Includes: 60 hours classroom, 20 hours classroom/lab, and 40 hours clinical training. This is a 120 hour course preparing CNA’s working in nursing homes to administer medications under the supervision of an RN (this 40 hour piece should be scheduled at the facility, by the facility, and a schedule provided to the instructor.) PREREQUISITE: CNA license +2080 hours as a CNA. Call the Adult Ed Office at 778-3460 for an application and detailed registration requirements. Assessments required.

This programs trains CNAs to administer selected non-injectable medications to patients who are 4 years of age and older. The course consists 120 hours of training, labs and clinicals; class training will be via Zoom and labs and clinicals will be scheduled in-person.
In order to qualify to take this class the Certified Nursing Assistant must:
- be active and in good standing on the Maine State CNA Registry with no disqualifying annotations
- have completed 1200 hours as a CNA in the last 2 years
- achieve a 10th grade level on a reading assessment
