Unleash your inner artist and decorate a cutting board with a spring design flower or veggies just the way you like them. Perfect to liven up your home or give as a gift. This class is beginner-friendly; no experience necessary! We’ve got all the materials you’ll need, but you will need to bring protective clothing, an apron, and safety glasses. Materials fee of $18 cash is payable to the instructor at class. Please preregister as we need a minimum of 5 people to run this course and have a maximum capacity of 7. Ages 18+

 

 

Knitting with the "Knotty Knitters"

The “Knotty Knitters” is a group of fiber enthusiasts with skill levels ranging from beginner to advanced. The members would like to invite new individuals to join. If you’re a novice, instructional support can be arranged. If you’re a pro, this is an opportunity to pass along your knowledge. This group meets year-round except for major holidays. (Ages 18+)

Want to make a welcome mat really that reflects your home? Join local artisan Johnna Shortsleeves and create a 2 foot by 11inch doormat, personalized with the last name of your choice. This would make a great gift idea just in time for Mother’s Day…or make and keep for yourself! Please specify last name at registration. Three to four days notice are need to make stencil.  Materials fee of $20 is payable to the instructor at class. Please preregister as we need a minimum of 4 people to run this course. Ages 18+

     

The Art of Shibori Dyeing

Japanese resistance-dyeing dates back to the 8th century.  Bind, fold, and twist your cloth to crate beautifully-dyed patterns. Explore techniques with a selection of objects for manipulating the fabric.  We will be using a natural dye extracted from the indigo plant. Leave with three dyed items! Required: one non-bulky fabric item, 4x4 feet or less, made of 100% natural fiber: cotton, cashmere, silk, or hemp. (Bolt Fabrics shop in Cornish has the cotton for $7.99/yd.). You will be dyeing and going outside so dress appropriately and bring a snack/lunch. Materials fee of $15 payable to the instructor at class includes two flour sack towels and dyeing materials.Please preregister as we need a minimum of 4 people to run this course. Ages 18+
