INTRO TO TRAIL RUNNING

Trail running gives you that sense of adventure and freedom that you don’t get on a treadmill. There is something different about being outdoors with nature and breathing in the fresh air that makes people feel better, relieves stress and increases sense of vitality. Come explore the beautiful trails behind the Sacopee Valley schools. Experience the epic views of the Ossipee River and forest; capture the sounds and sights of nature.This course is for beginners and moderate runners. If you’ve never run a trail in your life, great! If you are an experienced hiker and have trifled a bit with trail running but want more, perfect! Coach Ridley will get you started on warm ups, dynamic stretching, and form drills while listening to music in the gym. Then you’ll head outside for an enjoyable, gentle jog. Class will end with a cool down period and static stretches to keep those muscles strong and flexible. Please preregister as we need a minimum of 5 people to run the course.

Falun Gong is an ancient, traditional Chinese practice of "self cultivation"- a way to improve mental and physical wellness through five easy-to-learn exercises, meditation, and the elevation of one's mind. The practice is based on the universal values of truthfulness, compassion, and tolerance. This introductory demo class will provide a brief overview of the system, plus a demonstration of the exercises. A link to the classroom will be provided upon registration. This is a crucial time in our nation’s history. Our republic is at stake like never before… American rights are being threatened. This course offers a brief introduction to the Bill of Rights and its purpose and importance. Learn the fundamentals, facts, and importance of the Bill of Rights in the constitution. This class will cover the 10 amendments which guarantee civil rights and liberties to the individual, such as freedom of speech, press, and religion. It sets rules for the due process of law and reserves all powers not delegated to the federal government, to the people, or the states. Why is it so important to know your rights? If you don't know your rights, how will you know when they are being infringed upon? How do you know if your elected officials are abiding by them or abusing them? How will you know if your freedoms are being lost? Brief Q&A session. Please preregister as we need a minimum of 4 people to run the course.  THIS COURSE IS NOW AN ONLINE COURSE. Join Joyce Folgert, award winning painter and teacher, as she guides you through the creative process. Bring watercolor supplies to class: paints, brushes, and water containers. Materials fee of $25 is payable to the instructor at the time of class. Please preregister as we need a minimum of 4 people to run this course and have a maximum capacity of 8.
