Through both practical and emotional means, we’ll explore: finding accredited therapists, understanding insurance requirements, determining if your therapist is a good match (and what to do if they aren’t), and much more.

The imagination is an amazing tool, and nowhere is this more obvious than in the art of creative writing. From short fiction and poetry to full-length fiction or multi-volume fictional sagas, from unique social media posts to original advertising copy, it is important that the creative writer be able to tap into their creative, imaginative core. This class will touch on; generating ideas for a wide variety of writing projects, how to hook the reader’s attention, how to write attention-getting social media posts, the structures of poetry and fiction as well as developing narrative design for stories. You are welcome to bring your laptop or a notebook and writing utensils, whichever you are more comfortable with. But either way, this is an immersive, interactive class, so come prepared to write! In this course we will examine these Maine inventors, their inventions, and the impact these innovations, and many more, had on our world today. Join us for this informative 3-week class by author and historian Lori-Suzanne Dell.

Learn the art of printmaking using recycled Tetra-pak. Participants will learn how to make their own plate, how to ink the plate, and pull prints by hand or using a craft die-cutting machine (manual machine, not a Cricut) or pasta maker. After the prints dry, participants will learn how to finish their prints with optional hand-color prints using water-colors and/or colored pencils. This class is suitable for all levels. In this short course with Laurie Notch you will learn the history of the ghost story, why it is popular in cultures worldwide, and how to spin your own spooky yarn for fun and entertainment. Class takes place on Zoom. Students must have reliable internet, and an audio and video enabled computer, tablet or smartphone to participate.

Humans have been hunting with bows and arrows for, at least, 60,000 years - six times longer than we have been building cities. Archery is surely a [nearly] global, ancient human skill, and humans have made bows out of wood, bamboo, horn, and other materials throughout the years. Learn to make a bundle bow! The bundle bow is a useful quick bow that can be made largely without the use of knives. All you need are a few sticks and some string to tie ‘em together. Bundle bows can be made to be very strong and accurate! We’ll cover arrow-making, in theory; everyone in the class will receive one factory-made arrow. ***Each child registered must be accompanied by an adult on the day of the workshop. Workshop fee is per child; accompanying adults have free entry.

Do you have a story to tell? Turn it into a short movie. In this introductory 6 week filmmaking course for teens, we will take your story from inception to final project. Learn writing, editing, and how to pitch. This will be a collaborative and interactive experience that will take you from idea to a short film, using something as simple as your cell phone, or even a fancy camera. This will be a 100% fully ONLINE course with personalized one-on-one "check-in" sessions. The class will meet once a week as a group, online. All members of the class are encouraged to collaborate, assist as desired, and discuss with one another. While the instructor will be leading the course each week, there will also be one-on-one sessions with each participant (online).
