MSAD 52 Adult & Community Education will prepare you for and help you to successfully complete your Equivalency Diploma!

In Maine this is accomplished by taking and passing the HiSET® exam! To guide students in this process we offer pre-tests, HiSET® University (to help you build your skills) & FREE HiSET®Testing! Let us help you with #YOURNEXTSTEP!

Children’s behavioral health services are vital to Maine’s children with intellectual disabilities, autism, and mental health disorders and their families. As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential. This online training will equip you to successfully help children who are currently on a waitlist for services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace. You will complete 12 online modules then two 4-hour live sessions. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online bloodborne pathogen training and virtual first aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours. Assistance with job placement is provided to anyone who completes the program. Assistance with technology may be available. Prerequisites: A high school diploma or equivalency. Proof of high school completion is required, along with CPR/first aid certification. Funds are available to reimburse for the cost of CPR/first aid training.

Agile project management practices have become the standard for software development projects. More recently, Agile has grown beyond software projects as more and more companies adopt Agile concepts and methodologies. Individuals who have a solid understanding of Agile have a distinct advantage in today's changing project management atmosphere. The courses included in this certificate program will provide managers the basic foundation they need to become competent Agile practitioners. The program introduces the learner to the basic methodologies, practices, and key concepts of Agile and enables the learner to explore, through case studies, many of the common challenges of working on an Agile team.

Fantastic Photo Finishes-Organize & Edit Images with Your iPhone/iPad Photos App

This is a natural follow-up to "Taking Awesome Pictures with your iPhoneiPad," but is a stand-alone course as well. The focus here is on editing images as well as knowing how to organize images and video on iPhones or iPads. Other areas of focus include using the “For You” section (ready-made slide shows), creating, using, and sharing albums, and search.

BoomerTECH Adventures helps Boomers and Seniors create, connect, and contribute using today’s technology. These courses are fully asynchronous, online courses that students complete on their own time and at your own speed. Each course is a PDF booklet with information about the class, instructions on using the class, and the content of the class (videos and articles). The instructors provide personalized support for the class via email and/or online chat.

BoomerTECH Adventures courses are developed by Jill Spencer, Ed Brazee,  and Chris Toy, all Maine educators.  

Medical transcription is a desired field for most people trying to work at home. Strong typing, computer, and English grammar skills are essential. Medical terminology, formats, rules and regulations, jobs, calculation of pay, confidentiality, FTP, and tricks of the trade, all equipment, reference books, and course books are provided with the course fee. Classes are once a week for 16-weeks with a completion of 16 weeks to 6 month options. This is a State Certified Program and you will receive a Certificate of Completion and Letter of Recommendation upon graduation, resumes and how to obtain a job are covered in this program. Course includes medical terminology, Anatomy & physiology and transcription. $2650, includes everything for the course and the field.

20 week, in-depth medical coding for CPC certification. This program is designed to teach all aspects of medical coding and provide you the skills needed to become nationally certified and get into the job market as a Certified Coder.
