Chair Seat Weaving

In this informational class, you'll be introduced to various styles of seat weaving, with a focus on weaving a basic cane seat.  A hands-on weaving practice session on a small frame will take place at the first class.  This will be followed by supply information and 3 Zoom classes to assist and answer questions as you weave your seat. Participants are encouraged to bring a chair they want to work on at the first face-to-face informational class to have it evaluated.

This information session is free, but please register in advance so the instructor knows how many individuals will be attending.

Welding 2 builds upon the Introduction to Welding. The course offers further instruction in multiple areas including MIG, TIG, and brazing. Additional time dedicated to allow students to practice their skills in the booths on the various processes.

All welding students are required to have their own safety glasses, welding cap, welding gloves, welding jacket, welding mask, and safety boots.

Rhino 6.0 for Beginners

Rhino provides all the tools needed to accurately model and document your designs for CAD drawings, renderings, laser cutting, 3D printing, prototyping, CNC milling, and other manufacturing processes. This beginner class will introduce the Rhino interface and how to set-up, navigate, and organize your model; the different types of geometry objects that exist in Rhino and their most common uses; how to create and edit objects; and how to export and import drawing info to other software programs. After this course, you will understand the basics of Rhino, and have the skills to start modeling your first project. The class will be structured with 1-1/2 hours of instruction and 1 hour of practice time, with available assistance. A basic understanding of x, y, and z coordinates and orthographic projection will be necessary in order to be successful in this class. In person (live class), but may go virtual if CDC warrants.  Call 596-7752 ext.3 to enroll.

Whether you are just thinking about subbing or are a seasoned veteran looking to add some fresh ideas and “tools” to your repertoire, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this professional development opportunity. You will get to tour several schools within the RSU 14 District and will meet various RSU 14 staff members. Learn about the required substitute paperwork and protocol, strategies to keep students on task, tips to make lessons more appealing to reluctant learners along with tried and true behavior modifiers from our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Program. Participants completing the training will receive a differential upon subbing for RSU 14.
