Aerial Lift Training - Feb.

Be in compliance with the changing standards by taking Veterans Safety and Health Consulting LLC’s OSHA Compliant Personal Lift certification class. Learn how to safely and correctly operate aerial lifts and scissor lifts. There are an average of 26 construction worker fatalities each year from lift accidents, often due to operator error or negligence, amounting to as much as 3% of all construction related deaths each year. Reduce YOUR risk of injuries and fatalities with proper OSHA-compliant lift certification. Three separate sessions are offered; choose the one you want. Minimum of 10 participants to make this class run.

The Tech Spot is a School and Community Project located at the Renaissance Center (60 Water Street in Skowhegan). Under the supervision of an adult education instructor and other volunteer teachers, local students offer technology advice and tutoring at no charge to adults from throughout our school district. Individual and small group sessions are available by reservation or walk-in. Examples of possible help sessions include: general computer operation, preparing resumes, completing online job applications, conducting web searches, using Facebook and other social media programs, and operating Smart phones, iPads, Tablets, and PCs. Assistance is also available for creative software applications including basic iPhoto, & iMovie. Help with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) is available as well.
Mental Health Support Specialist (MHSS)

This training providesthe basis for supporting and interacting with clients and is oneof three course requirements for Maine State certification forMental Health Rehabilitation Technician.Nick Anderson has over 20 years experience with directsupport in the fields of Intellectual Disabilities and Mental Health. Heholds an associate degree in elementary education and has been acertified trainer for Mental Health Support Specialists through USMMuskie School since 2019. Over the last decade he has directlytrained new staff on the floor of different group homes.
QuickBooks and Basic Accounting

Learn to combine the basic principles of accounting with the essential knowledge of QuickBooks functions with this must-have training for anyone working in or looking to work in a small office. We will focus on accounting for a business setting: AP/AR, monthly reconciliation, record keeping for tax purposes, and other general small business bookkeeping requirements. Prior experience with QuickBooks is not required but helpful.

Digital Tools for Everyday Tasks

We will be using Google Suite, so participants will need to have a Google email.

This 21-hour course is designed to help you learn the fundamentals of using a vertical CNC milling machine. Discover how to generate a program using basic G and M codes. It is helpful if you have had some prior machining experience, but newcomers are welcome.
Small Engine Repair
with Danny Hupp, Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education
This hands-on course gives you the opportunity to bring your small engine equipment (ie. lawnmower, snow blower, weed wacker, small outboard, etc.) into the shop to learn how to maintain and repair most minor problems you may encounter during the year. You will learn basic theory that will help you understand how an engine works, how to troubleshoot problems, maintain your engine, and how and where to order parts. You must get instructor’s approval on the item you’re repairing at least 2 weeks before the course begins. This course is designed for beginners.
