English Language Learners (ELL) Level A Afternoon
with Sam Smithwick, Biddeford Adult Education
These classes provide a wide variety of educational options needed to learn English. Students can develop skills necessary to train for new jobs, or transition to college-level courses. Our experienced instructors appreciate ethnic diversity, and cultivate multicultural exchanges in the classrooms. The tuition-free program invites students who may have never been to school, or who may have some high school level education or less.

English Language Learning - Beginner
with Elizabeth DiLalla, RSU #13 Adult and Community Education
English Beginner class designed for English Language Learners at the beginning level, with a focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and life skills. Students will have the opportunity to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in this class.

Reading Skills for College
with Mariah Smith, RSU 54/MSAD 54 Adult and Community Education
Effective reading comprehension is essential to success at the college level and to advance in one’s career. This course is designed to help students improve reading comprehension and critical analysis. An emphasis is placed on developing vocabulary and improving reading speed. Assignments introduce students to college level textbooks, outlining strategies, and critical researching skills.
Remote instruction by appointment on Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
Writing Skills for College
with Mariah Smith, RSU 54/MSAD 54 Adult and Community Education
This course will cover the grammar and writing skills that are required for success in college level courses. Whether you need to brush-up your skills before attending college, need to improve your ACCUPLACER or CASAS scores, or need to earn a high school credit, you will find this course practical and useful.

ELL Advanced - Academic Reading and Writing/TOEFL Prep

Academic Reading and Writing - This class is designed for someone who is preparing for college, a professional career, or preparing to take the TOEFL exam. Focus on academic vocabulary, develop writing and communication skills, and improve your test taking skills.
