Number Skills for College

Note: This class will be offered virtually through a combination of email, texting, Zoom, and/or online learning. Students may occasionally be required to come to Skowhegan Area High School for testing.
This course will prepare students for Algebra I and/or entry-level college math. Whether you need a refresher before registering for your first college math course or need to improve your scores on the ACCUPLACER, you will find this course helpful. There will be a review of whole number operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, and other essential math skills. Word problems and the language of math will be explored.
Community Academy Language Arts & Math

Achieve additional academic knowledge asnd skills required to pursue a full range of career, secondary and post-secondary opportunities. This course helps students prepare for and complete required training, education, and certification necessary for employment.
Instruction emphasizes language arts and math skills. If you are preparing to take the high school equivalency test (HiSET), working on a traditional high school diploma, or studying to improve CASAS scores, this class is for you.

ELL Advanced W24
with Gabrielle Farias, Augusta Adult and Community Education
This is a 16-week course designed to provide ELL students with the groundwork needed to be bilingual in a higher-level of English. We will review complex and basic tenses and then begin moving into the higher level grammar. This course is geared to help you become more comfortable using higher level grammar in your speaking and writing while aiding in your understanding of reading and listening. This tagged with new vocabulary, and new reading and writing challenges will help you excel in the English language reaching the proficiency level of an advanced learner.
EnGen IT

Engen is an English Language upskilling program for learners of any skill level. With courses in career exploration, workforce development and digital literacy skills there is something for everyone.

ELL Basic W24

This class is a basic introduction to English. The class’s goal is to help students with writing basics (name, date of birth, address, phone number, etc.) found on forms they may be required to fill out. They will learn basic conversation in addition to an introduction to adjectives and how to use them.
