College Transitions College Readiness

Take the mystery and worry out of applying to and thriving in the college environment. Our College Transitions program helps you build a strong foundation of skills to support your college success.
College Readiness topics include: time management, study skills, navigating a college campus, campus resources, organizational skills, admission & financial aid information.
Weekly classes incorporate active discussion, guest speakers, personal surveys, and written work. College Transitions has a proven record of helping students learn how to overcome challenges faced by new college students and helping them succeed.
Please call us for more information: 207-422-4794. College Readiness is one course in our no cost College Transitions program. Students can attend in person or on Zoom; you do not have to enroll at UMA in order to take our College Transitions courses.

Creating Web Pages

with Ed2Go Instructor, MSAD#1 Adult & Community Education
Create and post your very own website using HTML. You will learn the best strategies for planning the content, structure, and layout of your website as well as creating pages with neatly formatted text, building links between the pages, and more! This course will also cover search engine optimization and powerful no-cost or low-cost web marketing strategies.

iPad Basics
with NDEC Instructor, Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education
This course covers the basics of how to use Apple’s popular iPad. The class starts with the basics of how to log on using multiple methods from passcode to touch id to face recognition technology. Apple’s iCloud service will be discussed, including how it will help secure your data and allow your data to be used across multiple Apple devices. The App Store will be covered to find additional applications that may meet your varied interest and needs. This class meets 3 times.

The National Digital Equity Center has been, and will continue to be, a thought leader on digital equity and digital inclusion.The National Digital Equity Center provides Digital Literacy classes that provide opportunities for professional growth, personal enrichment, the development of computer skills, and preparation for professional careers in a supportive environment. Customized training and consulting solutions are offered to businesses and industries, as well as community residents. Online classes are held in a live interactive form using a videoconference platform; in-person classes are at community locations in collaboration with partner organizations. We provide all instruction in a small group interactive learning setting, whether it is online or in-person.
High School Completion Information & Enrollment (START HERE)

This class is the first step to register for our high school completion program. Find out if HiSET(formerely GED) is a good fit for you, or is an adult education diploma a better option?
Come meet with our staff, learn what can be accomplished at RSU13 Adult & Community Education, and complete the registration paperwork needed to begin a learning program.
*Note that students choose just one of the session dates listed below to register.*
At the end of the Info & Enrollment Session, students will receive a link to register for the Foundations Course (required) to begin their academic program. Students may choose take schedule free HiSET practice tests (optional). Practice tests take approximately 45 minutes to complete and will be scheduled separatley.
Registration requested, but not required to attend an Info & Enrollment Session in-person.
Registration is required for virtual attendance so we can send you a secure meeting link. Complete the registration for the student attending the class.
