This is a High School Diploma class that teaches students how to budget their money and save for the future. After learning how to budget, students will learn the basics of investing, how the stock market works, and how to save for retirement.

For Academic and Enrichment students. Through the online G’metrix program, students will learn how to navigate, create, troubleshoot, and interact with others professionally in online work. Students completing the course will take a proctored exam. Successful completion of the exam will earn them a digital certificate. There are three levels to the course. HSD students must complete the first two levels and pass both proctored exams. Students interested in working in computer technology should complete all three levels and pass the Mastery exam. Northstar Digital Literacy defines basic skills needed to perform tasks on computers and online. Online, self-guided modules assess the ability of individuals to perform tasks based on these skills.

Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in three main areas: 

Essential Computer Skills - Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email, Windows OS, Mac OS

Essential Software Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs

Using Technology in Daily Life - Social Media, Information Literacy, Career Search Skills, Accessing Telehealth Appointments, Supporting K-12 Distance Learning, Your Digital Footprint

This is an advanced level ELL/ML (multilingual learner) for those looking to improve their English language skills.

Engen is an English Language upskilling program for learners of any skill level. With courses in career exploration, workforce development and digital literacy skills there is something for everyone.

These classes provide a wide variety of educational options needed to learn English. Students can develop skills necessary to train for new jobs, or transition to college-level courses. Our experienced instructors appreciate ethnic diversity, and cultivate multicultural exchanges in the classrooms. The tuition-free program invites students who may have never been to school, or who may have some high school level education or less.

Receive supplemental practice along with alternate explanations in order to understand a variety of mathematical topics at a deeper level. Work independently or with peers to complete assigned tasks and improve skills. If you need to improve math skills for the HiSET test or to be better prepared for college or career training, this is a great option. Please call to schedule your time.

Whether pursuing a diploma or just ?brushing up? on English related skills, this class has something for you. Practice your reading comprehension skills and enhance your writing. Review the parts of speech or prepare for college entrance exams. This course provides individualized and small group instruction in grammar, reading, and spelling.
