High School Completion
High School Equivalency (HiSET™) Preparation
with Debbie Avalon-King, RSU #3 Adult & Community Education
This will be a 6 week preparatory class to learn about the new high school equivalency test to be administered in Maine. This test takes the place of the GED test. Class begins with orientation and test overview. Continuation of class includes: pre/post assessment in math and reading and preparation for each subject of the HiSET™test. There will be an official practice test given for each subject and based on those scores, the instructor will recommend when individuals are ready to schedule each of their official exams. Tutoring will be available based on class and student need. Students are welcome to attend the next round of classes for specific subjects as needed. This class is also offered in the virtual learning center

HiSET High School Equivalency Test. The HiSET exam covers the same academic content areas as the GED and is offered at no cost to the test-taker. Passing the HiSET exam will earn a High School Equivalency Diploma. One-on-one HiSET tutoring and testing is available in our Adult Learning Center with skilled tutors. HiSet Orientation & Registration

New HiSET student welcome and orientation. Come learn about HiSET preparation, completion and what our program has to offer. Then have the opportunity to complete the intake process so you are ready to be part of our HiSET classes beginning Monday, September __, 2019.
HiSET Pre-Testing 12-3PM 5/14-5/16
with Christine Hersom, Sanford Community Adult Education
Register today for the Hi-SET Pre-Test Sessions. It’s FREE!
1 - You must commit to all three days of testing.
2 - You must have a valid, state issued photo ID.
3 - You must be at least 17 years old.
If you do not meet these (3) requirements, call us and we will evaluate your situation, you may still be able to pre-test.
Pre-Tests are administered in Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies.
Those who test Adequately or Well Prepared in all pre-test subjects and are at least 17 years old, will be invited to go onto Official testing, the following week.
Those who do not test in the above categories will be evaluated for the next steps, according to your specific situation (classes and/or tutoring).
All pre-testing will be held at the office of the Sanford Community Adult Education in Room 143 at 21 Bradeen Street, Sanford, Maine.
