The ocean is the defining feature of our planet. We will be studying the ocean’s influence on us, and how we influence the ocean. The course includes additional related topics, such as recycling and other topics relating to our planet. There will be one Friday field trip requirement for high school credit in this course. Limit 10 students. No class Oct. 14 and Nov. 11.

Discover the keys to deciphering algebra. Algebra I covers formulas, equations, polynomials, and graphing. Focus on real-world applications while preparing for a college-level algebra class. The Accuplacer test will be given at the beginning and end of the semester. Fee: $44 (Class free for students registered in the MCCA Program) Book Fee: $20 In order to enter this program, some testing and completion of paperwork are required. This course is ideal for adult students who want to refresh or build and develop the basic skills of math that are necessary for further integration into more complicated math skills. Academic areas to be covered: place value, units of measure, four operations, automaticity in addition and multiplication, reading one-step and two-step word problems, tables/graphs, conversions, maps, math vocabulary and finally, introduction to fractions/decimals. This course will also assist parents of children in early education to work with them at home. It builds self-confidence, pride in accomplishment and the ability to share their knowledge with their children. Limit 15 students. No class Nov. 27.
