This class focuses on basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to help you succeed in life and the workplace. Algebra 1 covers the real number system; understanding, writing, graphing and using equations, inequalities to solve problems, exponents, polynomials, roots, radicals and quadratics. This class prepares you for the Accuplacer Algebra test, ASVAB or PRAXIS tests. Instructor: Sue Finch Schedule: TBD ALL Classes require an intake and orientation appointment and placement testing. Gray-New Gloucester Adult & Community Education also offers students the opportunity to work at home, at your own pace with HiSET Academy. Students can work on reading, writing, science, social studies and math to improve their skills and prepare for HiSET testing in the comfort of your own home. This option is available to students working toward a high school credential and/or preparing for college. Students must complete the enrollment process and attend learning lab to be eligible for these courses.

College Transitions are programs that allow a student who already possesses a high school diploma to brush up on skills in order to gain entrance into college. If you are having trouble passing college entrance exams, or the college has told you to take adult education classes to bring you up to entrance standards, you need the College Transitions program. There is NO fee for this program and you can drop in any time we are open: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and Friday 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.. We also have an evening session Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at Camden Hills Regional High School.
