HiSET Preparation Learning Labs
with GNG Adult Education Instructors, Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education
Our HiSET preparation learning labs are designed to help students preparing to take the HiSET in math, reading, writing, science or social studies.
Fall 2024 Schedule:
Mondays - 4pm to 7pm
Tuesdays - 1pm to 4pm
Wednesdays - 4pm to 7pm
Thursdays - 10am to 1pm
Math Learning Lab
with GNG Adult Education Instructors, Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education
Students enrolled in this course have the opportunity to learn basic, everyday math skills, prepare for the HiSET math exam and/or brush up on math for college, in a relaxed, comfortable environment. If you have always found math to be struggle, join our math learning lab to gain more confidence. Our instructors assess students and develop individualized programs to meet your needs.

Reading & Writing Learning Lab
with GNG Adult Education Instructors, Gray-New Gloucester Adult Education
Students enrolled in this course will develop basic, everyday reading and writing skills in a relaxed, comfortable environment. This is a great course, designed to help brush up on communication skills, formatting for letters, reading texts for information and prepare for the HiSET. Students will learn about different types of text, author meaning, grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure. Join this class now to prepare for your future.

Edgenuity Open Lab

Work on your online diploma, college transitions, or HiSET courses with discussion and direction from our instructor. Diploma students are required to spend 3 hours per week per course in person during any time the lab is scheduled below.
Reading and Writing Skills for College

If you are planning to take or are currently enrolled in a college reading or writing class, this class is for you.
Reading/Writing Skills will help students improve reading comprehension and critical analysis; in addition, it will cover the grammar and writing skills that are required for success in college level courses.

Algebra and Number Skills for College
with January Hapworth, RSU 54/MSAD 54 Adult and Community Education
Are you preparing to take or currently taking a college math course? In Algebra and Number Skills, there will be a review of whole number operations, fractions, decimals, percentages, and other essential math skills. You will also learn essential algebraic terms, equations, and processes. This knowledge will increase your understanding and lead to greater success!
Student Support Center

If daytime classes don’t fit your schedule, this evening lab is available to study with the instructor on your HiSET, diploma, or college transitions program. You may work on Courseware, the HiSET Academy program, or college prep courses. Get one-on-one academic support, or use the computer lab.
English for Medical Careers
with Martin Feracci, RSU #13 Adult and Community Education
This class is designed for advanced English Language Learners with a medical career pathway. This course will build English language skills and vocabulary around careers in healthcare, and will also focus on test taking strategies, specifically for the CASAS test. Materials can be accessed online and students will meet weekly with the instructor in person or via video conference.
Students should have a minimum CASAS score of Level B (210 or higher) to take this class. RSU 13 Adult & Community Education provides CASAS testing at no cost to students.
