Mathematics for College
with Peg Junge, Five Town CSD Adult & Community Education
PART 1: Prepare for the Next Gen Accuplacer test in Arithmetic. Topics include operations with whole numbers, decimals, fractions and percents. This course is recommended for beginning math students who need to rebuild the foundational math skills and concepts needed for more advanced math studies. Accuplacer Arithmetic testing is provided for students (at no cost) during the last class. PART 2: Prepare for the Next Gen Accuplacer test in Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics (QRAS). Topics include proportions, exponents, algebraic expressions, linear equations, statistics, probability and geometric concepts. Students entering this course should be fluent in basic math operations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) and have confidence working with fractions. Accuplacer QRAS testing is provided for students (at no cost) during the last class. Classes are held weekly on Zoom and students will use Brightspace to access assignments and quizzes.

After taking the assessment, meet with a trained advisor to discuss the results. Together you can work on a plan to continue moving towards a career thats right for you. It might include researching careers, training, and education, meeting with professionals in the field, or applying to new jobs.
