Personal injury law is a specialized area of litigation that calls for the right specialized training. Our Injury for Paralegals Course will prepare you to plan an integral role in every case from intake and pre-litigations to trial preparation and settlement. You will learn many of the legal terms, causes of action, and remedies available to victims of personal injury accidents. A review of the negligence theory of torts upon which many personal injury claims are based is provided. Students also will discuss interviewing, investigating and other case-building techniques vital to a personal injury paralegal’s success in the law office. Class discussions and lesson material will include the different kinds of personal injury claims, including (but not limited to) car accidents, slips and falls, medical negligence/malpractice, manufacturer product defects, and class-action lawsuits. Discover the basic categories of damages recovery, statutes of limitations, and schemes for liability.

Pharmacy Technician National Certification with PTCB (SELF-PACED)

There is a cost of $2,850 to enroll in the class.  If you choose to do a payment plan through Academy of Medical Professions, Cost is $3,100.

This is an online course.  This class can be taken anytime, anywhere.  All classes are pre-recorded for you to take at your own pace.   You still have instructor support for the self-paced class.

Registration for this class is free, meaning there is no fee to sign up for the course.  However, once registered, there is a cost of $2,850 to enroll in the class.  Your registration doesn't secure your spot in the class.  Your registration details are necessary for SCAE to forward to American Medical Professionals.  Payments go directly to American Medical Professionals.  They offer multiple payment methods.

After signing up for the class, you'll receive a packet to fill out and send directly to American Medical Professionals.  Once you have filled out the paperwork and the information requested, Academy of Medical Professionals will reach out to you to complete your registration process.

 All-Inclusive 14 week program, you will learn everything from the role of the technician in the pharmacy setting to the basic sciences at the core of pharmacy practice, to preparing for the PTCB exam. You will learn complete drug information that includes proper name, spelling and pronunciation, drug class, generic and trade name, route of administration, dosage, and more of hundreds of drugs. You will be able to identify pills on sight with pill photos, gain a better understanding of how certain drugs work within the body with a concise review of relevant anatomy and physiology, and stay up to date with cutting-edge pharmacy practice with the latest information on new drugs, regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and safety procedures.

Students enrolled in this certificate program complete a minimum of 130 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training, meeting all state licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the state competency exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. Class size is limited so applying early is advised. Funding opportunities are available through the Pen Bay Apprentice Program "Earn While You Learn", as well as several other community programs. Prerequisite: high school diploma or equivalent.

This course is designed to teach experienced CNAs how to administer selected injectable medications and non-injectable medications to patients 4 years and older under the on-site supervision of a licensed nurse. Potential students must be currently licensed CNAs, listed as “active” on the Maine CNA Registry, or have employer documentation of the equivalent of at least one year of full-time employment as a certified nursing assistant, provide two letters of recommendation from Registered Nurses, and achieve a qualifying reading score on our placement testing. Payment plans and financial assistance may be available to those who qualify.
