Business Basics - Session 2
with New Ventures Maine, Boothbay Region Adult & Community Education
This three-session class with our professional staff covers the basics of writing a business plan, marketing, recordkeeping, and cash planning. The class is for those thinking about or in the early start-up phase of a new business. Students must have an audio- and video-enabled laptop, desktop, or tablet with reliable internet to participate in class. We do not recommend using a smartphone. Medical Coding with CPC Certification with Practicode (SET CLASS TIMES)
with Academy of Medical Professionals, Sanford Community Adult Education
This is an online course. This class can be taken anytime anywhere. All classes are pre-recorded for you to take at your own pace.
Registration for this class is free, meaning there is no fee to sign up for the course. However, once registered, there is a cost of $3,950 or $5,150 to enroll in the class. Your registration doesn't secure your spot in the class. Your registration details are necessary for SCAE to forward to American Medical Professions. Payments go directly to American Medical Professions. They offer multiple payment methods.

After signing up for the class, you'll receive a packet to fill out and send directly to American Medical Professions. Once you have filled out the paperwork and the requested information, Academy of Medical Professions will contact you to complete your registration process.

This 20-week, in-depth medical coding for CPC certification through AAPC. This program is designed to teach all aspects of medical coding, providing you with the skills needed to become nationally certified and to get into the job market as a Certified Professional Coder. This certificate program includes Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, 2 CPC-A exam attempts, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests, and all books. Basic computer skills are required. $3,950; Adding Practicode (6 - 10 - week online program) will remove the apprenticeship designation from the CPC Credential; $5,150. Payment plans available.

This program will be held once a week for 20 weeks. Upon completion of the program, you will sit for your CPC national certification which is included in tuition. Your title will be a CPC-A, for the first year; CPC-A means you will be considered a certified coder with an Apprentice designation for one year. Once you have worked for a year, you will have your Apprentice title removed and be an official CPC! This program consists of Medical Terminology/Anatomy for ICD-10 and Medical Coding curriculum.

Substitute Teacher Training
with Jessica Trimmer, Windham/Raymond Adult Education
Whether you are just thinking about subbing or are a seasoned veteran looking to add some fresh ideas and “tools” to your repertoire, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this professional development opportunity. You will get to tour several schools within the RSU 14 District and will meet various RSU 14 staff members. Learn about the required substitute paperwork and protocol, strategies to keep students on task, tips to make lessons more appealing to reluctant learners along with tried and true behavior modifiers from our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Program. The $34 course fee will be reimbursed to any participants who 1) complete the program, and 2) complete a day as a sub for RSU14.
Notary Public

Are you interested in becoming a Notary? In session one of this class, you will be guided through the process of how to become a notary, professional associations available and some of the ways people are making a living using this skill. In session two, following your review of the handbook for homework, we will address questions and complete the application and open-book test. You will leave ready to be certified by your town clerk. Two Thursdays, March 18 & March 25. Registration: $30, includes handbook & materials.
