The law of torts pertains to injuries against one's person or property. This course provides an overview of torts such as trespass, false imprisonment, defamation, nuisance, assault, battery, negligence and misrepresentation. You will also learn the elements of individual torts, such as intentional torts and negligence, are examined from a black letter law perspective.

Transactional legal professionals negotiate, draft and interpret contracts. This course will teach the provisions included in different types of general contracts, M&A documents and SEC documents. You will also learn drafting standards and work hands-on drafting, interpreting and negotiating various document provisions.

Preparing successful grant proposals to receive funding from corporations or foundations requires careful research, meticulous preparation, and graceful writing. Grant administrators will often say that many grant requesters have a limited understanding of the proposal writing process, and as a result their worthy causes lose out.

If you learn how to avoid the errors that lead to the rejection of your proposal, you will be better prepared to help the causes you most admire. This course will walk you through all of the essential steps, including an important discussion of what you must do when the grant arrives.

In this course, you will learn how to become fully familiar with the institution or project for which you are requesting support. You will get valuable guidance in preparing a background statement and a brief financial statement to support your request. You will also research some charitable foundation and corporate giving sources.

Then, you will learn how to put everything together, so you can assemble, write, and submit complete grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and wealthy individuals for any number of your pet projects.

This program will be held once a week for 20 weeks. Upon completion of the program, you will sit for your CPC national certification which is included in tuition. Your title will be a CPC-A, for the first year; CPC-A means you will be considered a certified coder with an Apprentice designation for one year. Once you have worked for a year, you will have your Apprentice title removed and be an official CPC! This program consists of Medical Terminology/Anatomy for ICD-10 and Medical Coding curriculum.

This course is a 6-to-10-week online practicum taken after earning your CPC-A. CPC-A’s get real-world experience coding actual medical charts. This new coding practice course helps to improve coding skills across multiple specialties, allows a new coder to gain coding experience. It is comprised of 3 modules of 200 actual, redacted medical records per module. Upon completion of this program, you will have your Apprentice designation removed immediately- providing you an equivalency of 2 years’ experience in the field in under 30 weeks.
