This course is designed to prepare the entry-level phlebotomist or those individuals seeking a medical career pathway with the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to perform in a medical laboratory environment. The phlebotomy student gains confidence and professionalism in the art of obtaining blood samples for laboratory analysis through repeated hands-on practice and instructor feedback. Students are provided instruction in the areas of communication, medical terminology, proper specimen collection, basic anatomy & physiology, as well as complications and variables surrounding venipuncture. In addition to instruction students will complete a 2 week clinical experience.

Upon completion of the course students will receive 3 credits through UMPI. The cost for this program is $1800.  Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.

***Preference will be given to those who complete (or start the process of) immunizations prior to the interview. This includes HepB, which takes several weeks to complete. 

Application deadline is Friday, August 1st, 2025 and interviews will follow shortly after.  Classes will begin on August 18th and go until Oct 10th.  Class meets in person at UMPI every Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. There will be a 2 week clinical experience following completion of the lecture component of the course.  Clinical locations to be determined.

12 week Certificate program in Dental Assisting for one of the most high-demand careers.  This program is designed to teach all aspects of dental assistingand provide you with the skills you need to work in this field and pass a national certificate exam. This program is taught by a dentist and includes an opportunity for internships.  We now offer an option for lab days, please ask for more details!  The price of the course includes all books, exam preparation materials and fees for the DANB RHS certificate program. Become a CNA through our training program at Region Two School of Applied Technology & Summit.  

Class Times:  10am~1pm  (Every other day as per class schedule)

Successful graduates will be certified for employment in state-approved health care institutions through the State of Maine and will be placed on the Maine Board of Nursing Registry.

Electrical Class for Beginners Flyer

October 1 to October 29, 2025 

5 Sessions, Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 8pm.

Minimum of 7 students needed to run the class.

Become Nationally Certified in 10 weeks as a Phlebotomy Technician.  This course is all-inclusive and prepares you for national certification with live classes via Zoom and in-person skills labs. You will be able to perform basic phlebotomy procedures, evaluate patients for ability to withstand venipuncture procedure, explain the procedure and answer patient questions, perform basic point of care testing, such as blood glucose levels on patients, prepare blood, urine, and other body fluid speciments for testing according to extablished standards.  The class fee of $3,500 includes Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) national certification through NHA, books, resume and job assistance.
