This course explores the fundamental concepts and theories practitioners will need to successfully guide operations in manufacturing and service organizations. Modules in this self-paced course introduce key foundational material, describe the interplay of supply chains and demand management, and explain the role that processes and process management play in robust operations. Specific tools, techniques, and methodologies (including Lean, total quality management, and Six Sigma) are presented to show their applicability to operational strategies.

Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is an ideal step if you are considering a nursing degree or an entry-level clinical position. 

CMAs work with providers mainly in outpatient facilities. They are a critical part of a patient’s care team. How do I know if this is the program for me?

Our CCMA program provides instruction, lab practice, and hands-on training. Externships are completed at the end of the course.  It is approximately 140 hours of class and labs and 160 hours of externship/clinical training.

CMA training includes:

•   Administrative and clinical duties
•   Preparing patients for examinations and treatment
•   Updating medical records - EMR
•   Taking and documenting vital signs
•   Routine lab procedures
•   Diagnostic testing, including EKG
•   Basic phlebotomy and the cardiac life cycle
•   Workplace expectations and professionalism
•   Training includes an externship prior to employment

Additional CCMA courses include: Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, and Medical Math.

Schedule: We offer two options for completing your CCMA-
In person: all classes and labs are completed at our learning center in Sullivan. (Evening classes & daytime labs, next class September 2025)

Hybrid: evening classes/lectures are offered on Zoom (cameras must be on) and afternoon labs are offered in Sullivan, Bucksport, and Baileyville. (Next start date March 2025).

When you meet with the Adult Education director, an individualized plan will be created that works for you, your specific needs, and life situation. You will be given an account to work in a self-paced style program with HiSET and progress from there. When ready, you can take practice tests, and eventually the exams. There are five tests in total in five subject areas; Math, Science, Social Studies, English Reading, and English Writing. When necessary, we will set you up with a tutor in the subjects that you need a little more support with. This teacher professional development course will teach you about the varied needs of educationally disadvantaged and at-risk students in your classroom. Your students come to you with a diverse set of needs, and you will need to implement strategies that help support each student's success in your classroom. You will analyze Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, consider the needs of your own students, and then work to evaluate and implement strategies for support in your classroom. The course comes with a downloadable PDF of the content, a student needs checklist, and various strategy plans you can utilize for implementation in your classroom so you will be empowered to work with at-risk youth.

Children with intellectual challenges, autism, and mental health disorders in Maine, as well as their families, depend on children's behavioral health services. And there is a huge need in our area!

A Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) is an essential member of a child's treatment team and has the chance to have an instant influence while assisting children in reaching their full potential. We are thrilled to provide this fantastic ONLINE training and certificate program to our community. You will be equipped to work with children who need services thanks to this program and also prepare yourself for employment with local social service organizations.

Complete 12 online modules and three live, four-hour sessions, after which you will receive free online training in blood-borne pathogens and certification in child and adult first aid and CPR.
