Medical Coding with CPC Certification with Practicode

Registration for this class is free, meaning there is no fee to sign up for the course.
However, once registered, there is a cost of $5,150 to enroll in the class itself.
This is an online course. This class can be taken anytime.
Your registration doesn't secure your spot in the class. Your registration details are necessary for SCAE to forward to American Medical Professionals. Payments go directly to American Medical Professionals. They offer multiple payment methods.
After signing up for the class, you'll receive a packet to fill out and send directly to American Medical Professionals.
Once you have filled out the paperwork and the information requested, Academy of Medical Professionals will reach out to you to complete your registration process.
20-week, in-depth medical coding for CPC certification through AAPC. This program is designed to teach all aspects of medical coding, provide you with the skills needed to become nationally certified and get into the job market as a Certified Professional Coder. This certificate program includes Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, Step-by-step coding, CPC-A exam, AAPC membership, 3 practice CPC tests, and all books. Basic computer skills are required.
Adding Practicode (6 - 10 weeks online program) will remove the apprenticeship designation from the CPC credential.

Clinical Medical Assistant Training Application

***This is a live, in-person training. This cannot be done online through distance learning. You MUST be able to attend classes in Presque Isle, Maine.
SAD1 Adult & Community Education and Northern Light AR Gould Hospital have teamed up to offer this amazing "Earn While You Learn" program.
Clinical Medical Assistants work alongside providers, mainly in outpatient facilities, such as medical offices and clinics. They form both administrative and clinical duties, such as welcoming patients, updating patient medical records, taking medical histories, taking blood pressures and temperatures, preparing patients for exams, assisting the provider during exams, collecting lab specimens and much more. Clinical MAs are an essential part of a patient care team, helping patients feel at ease and serving as a vital link between patients and providers.
Northern Light AR Gould Hospital in Presque Isle will hire students and pay them a wage while they complete a full-time, approx 14 weeks of training program. The program will include classroom learning, labs, and clinical rotations. Curriculum is provided by the Academy of Medical Professionals and students will be able to sit for a certification exam to become a Certified Clinical MA. Those who successfully complete the course will be guaranteed a job within one of Northern Light AR Gould's medical group offices.

BHP: Behavioral Health Professional Training

Our community is looking for individuals who want to make a difference in a child’s life.
Children’s Behavioral Health Services are vital to Maine’s children with Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health Disorders and their families. And the need in our area is great!
As an integral part of the child’s treatment team, a Certified Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) has the opportunity to make an immediate impact while helping a child grow and develop to their full potential.
We are excited to connect our community to this wonderful ONLINE training program. The online training will equip you to help children who are receiving Behavior Health services. The training will prepare you for employment through local social services agencies. The program can be started at any time and finished at your own pace.
You will complete 12 online modules then 3 4-hour live sessions, including the new ethics and boundaries training. Once the modules are completed, you will receive free online blood borne pathogen training and virtual First Aid & CPR training if you do not already possess those certifications. The entire training requirements will take about 45 hours.
Any individual who will be 18 years of age or older upon completion of the course may register.

Legal Nurse Consultant Training Course
with Center for Legal Studies, Sanford Community Adult Education
This is an online course.
This exciting program prepares medical professionals for a career in the legal field as legal nurse consultants. Building on your medical education and possible clinical experience, this course provides nurses with the fundamental skills necessary to advise law firms, health care providers, insurance companies, and governmental agencies regarding medically related issues and to appear in court as expert witnesses. The course teaches legal concepts related to the healthcare industry, as well as the role a legal nurse consultant might play in litigation areas such as medical malpractice, toxic torts, product liability, personal injury, wrongful death, criminal law, and workers’ compensation. Any nurse interested in entering the legal field can benefit from the education provided by this course. The course is also open to anyone interested in the field of forensic testimony and medical-legal issues, but participants without a nursing background might not be able to take the LNCC exam after graduation. Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC) is a discretionary test separate from this training course that experienced registered nurses graduating from this course may decide to sit for. LNCC test eligibility requirements are discussed during this training course; however, nurses graduating from this course need not take the LNCC to practice as legal nurse consultants.
This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Colorado Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Successful graduates will receive a certificate for 42 contact hours of nursing continuing professional development from CLS by Barbri that they may be able to use to fulfill continuing education requirements
Certified Residential Medication Aide Certificate Program

CRMAs are in high demand!
Receive standardized training for professionals working in state-certified residential care homes. State of Maine regulations, standard residential facility policies, and basic anatomy and physiology are covered. Discuss medications, safe administration procedures, practice taking vital signs, transcribing physician orders, and documenting procedures on the Medication Administration Record per Maine’s regulations governing residential facilities. In addition, students must complete a Clinical Medication Administration of three medication passes for three different residents with 100% accuracy. Full certification and medication pass awarded on successful completion with 40 hours of attendance, no exceptions. Participants must be 18 or older. No high school credential or background check required. Tuition includes fee for handbook. Course fee is nonrefundable. Payment plans available for qualified applicants.

Have you ever thought of being a hospice volunteer? Hospice volunteers visit with patients who have a life expectancy of 6 months or less. We offer companionship, support and friendship; we help patients make the most of every day. Join me for one evening where we will first talk about what you can expect as a Beacon Hospice Volunteer. And then using your smartphone, laptop or tablet, we will begin the process of applying. All of the training and onboarding is online after that.

Would you like more information about becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)? Join us for this free information session to learn about this exciting opportunity. Students who are accepted into this program will be hired as full-time Northern Light Mercy employees, with benefits, for the duration of the training. Students will be paid hourly to complete the State of Maine Board of Nursing 130 hour curriculum that includes 20 hours of hands on lab experience and 40 hours of clinical work.
