Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA)

An all-inclusive 16-week program that includes in-person skills labs and live via Zoom class meetings that prepare you to pass the National Certification.
Upon completion of the program, you will sit for your CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) national certification exam through NHA. $3,500 includes national certification, 6 practice exams, online study guide materials, books, resume assistance, and all other associated fees. Externships may be available in your area. Payment plans are available.

Clinical Medical Assisting (CCMA)(SET CLASS TIMES)

There is a cost of $3,500 to enroll in the class. If you choose to do a payment plan through Academy of Medical Professions, Cost is $3,750
This is an online course. There are set times for classes.
Registration for this class is free, meaning there is no fee to sign up for this course. However, once registered, there is a cost of $3,500 to enroll in the class. This registration doesn't secure your spot in the class. Your registration details are necessary for SCAE to forward to American Medical Professions. Payments go directly to Academy Medical Professions. They offer multiple payment methods.
After signing up for the class, you'll receive a packet to fill out and send directly to Academy Medical Professions. Once you have filled out the paperwork and the requested information, Academy of Medical Professions will contact you to complete your registration process.

Phlebotomy Certificate (Free Info)
with Academy of Medical Professions, Windham/Raymond Adult Education

Become Nationally Certified in 10 weeks! Prepare with live Zoom classes and in-person skills labs. Perform basic phlebotomy venipuncture procedures, answer patient questions, perform basic testing, such as blood glucose levels, prepare blood, urine, and other body fluid specimens for testing.
$3200 includes Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) national certification through NHA, books, resume, and job assistance. *Labs may not be available at all locations.

WHO IS A MEDIAL TRANSCRIPTIONIST?
As a Medical Transcriptionist, you are responsible for receiving verbal information and typing that information into a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word or Word Perfect. This information must be transcribed accurately, using the format specified by the provider (SOAP notes, discharge summaries, and other report forms).
Basic computer knowledge is a must, as are basic typing skills and knowledge of commonly used word processing programs. Most doctors or transcription companies ask for a minimum of 60 WPM. Also, many companies now use the Internet, which gives you the opportunity to work out of your home without having to drop off and pick up tapes.
CNA Certified Nursing Assistant - July 2025

Students enrolled in this certificate program complete a minimum of 130 hours of classroom, laboratory, and clinical training, meeting all state licensing requirements. Upon successful completion of the course and passage of the state competency exam, the student will be eligible to enter the healthcare field as a Certified Nursing Assistant under the direction of a licensed nurse. Class size is limited so applying early is advised. Funding opportunities are available through the Pen Bay Apprentice Program "Earn While You Learn", as well as several other community programs. Prerequisite: high school diploma or equivalent.
CNA-Med Tech Summer 2025
with Nancy Hoskins, Piscataquis Valley Adult Education Cooperative

This course is designed to teach experienced CNAs how to administer selected injectable medications and non-injectable medications to patients 4 years and older under the on-site supervision of a licensed nurse. Potential students must be currently licensed CNAs, listed as “active” on the Maine CNA Registry, or have employer documentation of the equivalent of at least one year of full-time employment as a certified nursing assistant, provide two letters of recommendation from Registered Nurses, and achieve a qualifying reading score on our placement testing. Payment plans and financial assistance may be available to those who qualify.

Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) - August 2025
with Terry Adkins, Mid-Coast School of Technology Adult Education

This 40-hour CRMA course includes classroom training, with clinical available after successful completion of classroom. All students must complete clinical, either with our instructor or arranged through your facility. Successful students will be certified to administer oral medications to residents in state-licensed assisted living facilities. Clinical component is an additional $125 if done with MCST instructor. There are funding opportunities available for this class.
