Monthly Storytime Adventures are curated to include a copy of the storybook for each child registered. A comprehensive craft to accompany the book, along with a take-home and follow-up for parents/guardians to continue the discussions from our Adventure together. The outdoors, movement, and opportunity for creative outlet are encouraged.

These sessions are ideal for parents/guardians of children birth to 4 years. Parent/Guardian discussions will be monthly to discuss topics of how to integrate literacy into our lives with the assistance of Community Partners.

Create a “Home Sweet Home” Magnolia Deco Mesh Wreath W24

Amy will supply the materials to make a Beautiful “Home Sweet Home” Magnolia deco-mesh wreath and will guide you through the process of creating a beautiful 24-inch wreath. We will have an intermission halfway through the 3-hour class. Amy will provide snacks and drinks. This class is very relaxed and has a fun atmosphere. A $30 materials fee is due to Amy Harrington at the start of class.

Amy is a mom of four and has been crafting for over 13 years. Amy discovered a passion for wreath-making in 2021 and has been mastering the craft ever since. She enjoys bringing joy to her customers’ homes, warming hearts, and seeing the wonder in her students’ eyes as they say, “I made that!” Amy attends out-of-state workshops and takes classes online from her coaches to stay on top of the up-and-coming trends. She looks forward to sharing her passion with you.

Caregivers' Guide for Dementia-Related Illness W24

Are you caring for someone with a dementia-related illness? Do you have questions about behaviors, the progression of the disease, or how to deal with difficult situations that arise? Would you like to have a place to talk about your frustrations with others in the same situation?

In this workshop, learn about the effects of dementia-related diseases, coping strategies, best practices, and ways to keep your loved one engaged at every step of the journey. Home safety and best practices will be addressed.

This course also provides group support for caregivers who may be feeling alone, stressed, and have no place to vent their feelings. Helpful community resources and respite will also be explored. (Classes are for caregivers, not the recipient of care.

Many sensitive topics will be discussed relating directly to those you care for, or those recently diagnosed. It would not be appropriate for these individuals to be present for such discussions.

Sessions are held on-site at Granite Hill Estates, 60 Balsam Dr, Hallowell, ME 04347

This three-week course is held on Thursdays 4:00-5:00 pm, Beginning May 9, 2024.

Is your closet full of black-colored clothing? Would you like to learn what other colors look good on you? In this fun interactive class, you'll be draped in a variety of colors to learn about warmer and cooler tones to determine what types of colors look best on you. You'll also receive recommendations for eye shadows, blush, and lipsticks for your coloring so you can put the two together to create a more vibrant you!

Owner of Radiant Image, Candace is a personal stylist helping women look and feel good by teaching them how to dress for their clothing, body proportions, and face shape. She specializes in women over 40 and provides her services virtually and at her studio in Auburn, Maine.

MaineGeneral's Harm Reduction Program May W24

MaineGeneral's Harm Reduction Program leads training and conversation on Overdose Response and Narcan Administration. The presentation will begin by discussing what harm reduction means, and what opioids are, before identifying what an opioid overdose looks like. The training will then discuss steps for responding to an overdose, and close with a conversation about the Good Samaritan Law. Attendees are invited to ask any questions and/or share experiences throughout.

Card-Making Workshop May W24

Calendar May 14, 2024 at 6 pm, runs for 1 week

Make four handmade cards and learn new techniques and fun folds. All embellishments and envelopes are included. You will go home with instructions for the cards you made in class. There is a lab fee of $5 payable to the instructor on the first night of class.

Lorna has been card-making for over 25 years and teaching classes for 15 years. With every class is a special door prize.
