For Academic and Enrichment students. Through the online G’metrix program, students will learn how to navigate, create, troubleshoot, and interact with others professionally in online work. Students completing the course will take a proctored exam. Successful completion of the exam will earn them a digital certificate. There are three levels to the course. HSD students must complete the first two levels and pass both proctored exams. Students interested in working in computer technology should complete all three levels and pass the Mastery exam. Northstar Digital Literacy defines basic skills needed to perform tasks on computers and online. Online, self-guided modules assess the ability of individuals to perform tasks based on these skills.

Included are basic computer digital literacy standards and modules in three main areas: 

Essential Computer Skills - Basic Computer Skills, Internet Basics, Using Email, Windows OS, Mac OS

Essential Software Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs

Using Technology in Daily Life - Social Media, Information Literacy, Career Search Skills, Accessing Telehealth Appointments, Supporting K-12 Distance Learning, Your Digital Footprint

Art 1-Foundations of Art W24

Foundations of Art is designed to meet the fine arts requirement for AACE high school diploma students. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the elements of art and the principles of design as well as art history and criticism. Students will explore basic art media and techniques, such as drawing, painting, collage, printmaking, and sculpture! Students will attend class once per week as well as complete a weekly project outside of class.

This class is a prerequisite for Art 2.

Independent Learning Lab Emerging Math is aligned with College and Career Readiness Standards Level C (basic math skills). The course is a hybrid format allowing students to work online outside of class and also attend class for in-person direct instruction and support. This class provides AACE high school diploma students with the opportunity to earn one required math credit. This class is also appropriate for adult transition students.
